HARD DISK nightmare
Just got home last night to be told by 'er in doors she cannot get to the archive to view recordings and cannot record as message come up saying Disk is full.
Even if disk was full, how come I wasn't able to view my recordings? I don't think the disk was anywhere near full, so why the message. I linked the 5800 to my Pc and tried to see if it would reveal a file where the recording were , but nothing. In the end I had to reformat the drive- obviously I've lost all the saved recordings. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what happened? thanks |

When I upgraded firmware to 5.14.08, I had this the next day - scrolling across the window and the only way to get rid of it was to switch off at the mains and go backto 5.13.65. No problems since. Don''t suppose this helps much, but some feedback..... |

I have a newer 5800, Hardware version 1.01, Loader version C5.14.

Don''t suppose this helps much, but some feedback..... I'm just becoming a tad fed up with Toppy, which until recently was great. I have new channels appearing in the number 1000s which is frustrating. Some numbers not in the channel section, like Setanta at 34. but press 34 on the remote and it's there.Grrrrrr!! I'm not a techie and find it all confusing. |

ruudboy, your wrong channel number issue sounds like a split-NIT issue. This is not a Toppy issue, its a broadcast change. Any box from any manufacturer will have issues with wrong channel numbers since there region went to split-NIT (a new way to broadcast the EPG to allow more channel numbers on there i believe), unless that box as updated firmware. Newer boxes don't have this issue as they have firmware built in for this. see below post on how u can fix:- http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...d.php?t=930944

If you have wrong channel numbers, then you need a firmware for the Toppy with a fix - there is a link to the fix on the front page of www.toppy.org.uk (and has been for quite a few months now...)
