£250.00 - which TV?
Thanks in advance for your advice.
We purchased a Grundig 19" LCD with a built-in DVD player a year ago for £250.00 It's since gone faulty and we were having problems with the DVD not recognising the discs. The store has offered a full refund. We have decided to avoid 'combi' type TV's next time we purchase. Probably a stand alone DVD/Blueray would be more suitable to accompany the new TV. What TV for £250.00 would you recommend (the DVD player would not be included in this price)? Cheers (extended cover would be a consideration too) Last edited by halewood : 04-02-2009 at 14:29. You don't really mention what you want in terms of size, but a quick look around found the following:
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5294213/c_1/1|category_root|Home%2Bentertainment%2Band%2Bsat%2Bnav|12108813/c_2/2|cat_12108813|Televisions|12108983.htm A 22" Samsung for £ 245. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5294457/c_1/1|category_root|Home%2Bentertainment%2Band%2Bsat%2Bnav|12108813/c_2/2|cat_12108813|Televisions|12108983.htm A 19" Toshiba for £ 245 Both are reasonable brands and I wouldn't worry about extending the warranty on either of these. Sets with on board DVD players do seem to suffer from worse reliability than those without. If you wanted a 'premium' brand then you'd be looking at a Panasonic or Sony, but they will be more expensive than either of the above. Hope this helps. |

I bought this set for my mother about 6 weeks ago.. very easy to set up, good sound quality, decent picture quality too..
We're struggling with the reception on the digital channels but that's our area/aerial and not a reflection at all on the tv - I took it over the road where they've got a wideband (I think it's wideband) aerial and the reception was faultless.. and it was pretty windy that night too
