LCD panel price.
Could anyone give me some idea of the cost of fitting a new 32" panel to my panasonic tx32lxd500, mine has a fault diagnosed by a technician.

mine was £500 for a replacement 26" lcd panel only, the complete tv at that time was £650 to buy brand new.
It could be any price really, if they have none available and have to make it from scratch, which is what they did with mine. |

Sorry to burst your bubble, but they didn't make one "from scratch" especially for you. Either one was found somewhere in the "supply chain" and took it's time to find it's way to you or it was some time before the next batch of that specific panel was due for build. (legacy or non-current build panels are often built in batches for repair/service stock but only maybe once or twice a year).
If you've ever seen the size of the "mother glass" that LCD panels are made from then you would understand that is isn't feasible (economically or technically) to make just one! |
