Graham,

If I choose 957 BBC1 NI in box 1, and BBC 2 in box 2, I get the same 2 channels, but duplicated in the alternatives box 1 & 2. And will keep adding to the duplicates by pressing the suggestions button

Not a major one, though.

Rgds.

Nice one, it's because your original choice gives you full TS choice to all channels. Need to disable suggestions because there is no need. Will mod and send you MK3.

Mod sent. Try BBC1 & BBC2 suggestions. Never knew you could record both and watch anything (including TS)

Confirmed, fixed - thx.

Don't understand the BBC1 & BBC2 bit.

If I choose BBC1 & BBC2, it offers me the alternative of 957 BBC1 NI & BBC2; I do this on the HDR, and I can then go into BBC1 (101) and pause live. Isn't this expected behaviour?

Rgds.

Yes it's expected but I had not realised that this was possible, it just came up while messing.

It is quite "clever" this box isn't it

I'm off to the theatre soon - no doubt some others will carry on testing.

I'll pick up tomorrow.

Thanks so far, Graham - good work.

Rgds.

Clash Detector now has Dual Cable and One Cable options.

So far only Savvy has requested copy despite expressed interest.

The one cable option would be invaluable to those forced to use a single lnb.

Come on guys, I've been playing with this, and it's very good. My wife thinks I'm really clever being able to find a way of sometimes being able to record 2 programs, watch another, and still be able to live pause that channel

Graham has put a lot of work into this (well, I couldn't have done it !!), is not asking for any money for it, just wants people to get some use out of it.

Give it a try.

Thanks Graham.

I just d/loaded this and am now showing my thickness I think!

I can open the spreadsheet with open office calc after ignoring the warning about macro's and virus' but it does nothing but give me a sheet of all the channels with 3 buttons marked dual, one and help.
Clicking help gives nothing? neither it seems does single or dual.

If I enter 1 in D2 and 2 in D4 should something happen

Does OpenOffice support Excel VBA out of the box?

Graham,

Much better user experience from making those bigger - thanks. (Would never have thought of suggesting that).

Thanks for your efforts - a very useful tool.

Just one question; how is the 'Suggestions' button supposed to be used?

It examines your choice of channels to record, if it finds an alternate region that extends your list of channels to view and enable time shifting it tells you the alternate channel. You still have to check the same programme is available in the other region though.

Try BBC1 West Midlands and BBC HD for a demo

Clearly I wasn't trying the right combinations!

Geoff

PS - Version 002 is much better, with its larger display areas.

So this would seem to require MS Office be installed before it will work, expensive hammer to crack a nut.

Good luck with the software Graham but I guess I will pass.

Just being slightly pedantic, but Ch 968 BBC2 England is listed as 10733, shouldn't this be 10773 else it will not show in the 'can watch' list, whilst being recorded along with another channel from a different transponder?

It's possible to create a stand alone version using the full version of visual basic. It's a lot harder to implement as you don't have the convenience of a spreadsheet to hold the data. You have to basically create a database linked to the application. Lot's of us use MS Office, the code will work with older versions and these can be purchased at reasonable prices. (You only need Excel)

A quick search found this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...00HCZ8EO308981

If you can get hold of a copy of Excel 5 (computer shows are a good source, often seen unused OEM versions ) that will work no problem

I can't get to the box to check the channel frequency, but ...

In the spreadsheet, if you select 968 in box 1, and 101 in box 2, then pressing Suggestions gives 968 & 101 again in both boxes with different Watch Channels. This is in "Dual Cable"

edit : Actually, even worse - try 968 in box 1 and 105 in box 2; suggestions then offers to record 957 which is BBC1 NI (not BBC2)
