thanks to Caoimhghin and Savvy.

There is a couple of errors on row 139 of the table

Column 2 should be 10773 and column 4 should be 2 (not 1)

Graham,

Why does this happen? :-

Box 1 = 957 BBC1 NI (Chosen for "flexibility")
Box 2 = NONE
Can Watch = No (ts) channels

Change Box 2 to 102 BBC2
Can Watch = Lots of (ts) channels

If not recording on the Second Tuner, aren't all channels available as TS?

Rgds.

It's because it was designed to display the limitations of recording when recording 2 and only rebuilds the list when 2 recordings are selected. If you leave the Default entry as NONE in box 2 without actually clicking on anything the textbox listindex returns -1 (nothing selected) so the code ignores the invalid return and therefore does not populate the watch list. Clicking on None gives a valid listindex so I guess you could start with every entry marked as TS. Apart from single cable mode if you are recording only one you of course have a full choice. I will make the mod to start with all entries marked TS and incorporate it in future releases

Check your in box

Yes, your explanations makes sense.

But, the mod will seem more consistent for casual users of it.

Thx.

RecordClash application now at version 4.

On Dual Cable option

Now correctly reports watch list when only 1 recording selected

Suggestion list now includes all alternatives instead of just the first (Improves chance of finding same programme on alternate channel)

A very useful application; for those newer members who haven't come across it yet, give it a go.

There going to be a tip in here somewhere if I can explain it simply .

It's good to have an application that can be used for planning when you are away from the HDR and also to develop an instinctive understanding of how things work.

Personally, I don't tend to think in terms of channels. I chose programmes to record without paying much attention to the channel they are on. I find the HDR itself to be a pretty good clash detector. It also goes some way towards resolving clashes. But it sometimes needs help.

The problem with the HDR's clash resolution is that it only looks for alternative instances for the last programme you try to record, and it may not find any. The way around this is to cancel one of the other scheduled recordings and then try to set it up again. It will then look for alternative instances of that. If it doesn't find any, cancel the third one and try and set that up again. If that doesn't work, the clash is irresolvable and you'll have to cancel something. [If you leave your least wanted recording to last when attempting to reschedule, the process will be a little simpler as it will already be cancelled if you discover that the clash is irresolvable.]

It would be churlish to claim that not looking for alternative instances of programmes already scheduled for recording is a problem with the HDR as its alternative instance feature is one of the better things about it. Nevertheless, it would be very nice it could be enhanced to do this.

Anyone who has already downloaded V006 I have found a small bug (channel scan misses last few channels in list). Bug now fixed and Teletext on 986 added.

Apols for inconvenience.

I should think so aswell considering what you charge for this program. It also took you almost a full day to update the channel list for teletext.......what kind of service is that!!

Still not sure what went wrong, the formula in E1 developed a mind of it's own and returned the wrong line count. Noticed it when adding 986. Redoing the formula again returned the right answer. For reference it should read 149, (the last line with programme data)

I have an idea for the single cable option, thinking about adding a suggestion button such that when you choose a programme that has regional variations it writes all the possible combinations of what channels you can watch to a second worksheet by what choice of regional variation you make. (if that sounds like gobbedly gook - sorry ?) Do you think it might be usefull ?

Yes definately. Now that users know they can get the updates with one feed, I think there are going to be more and more folks in flats willing to buy it. So that will help users who just wouldn't think about the other options available to them just by changing what region they watch

Major upgrade to dual cable functionality.

http://www.4shared.com/file/98838419...dCheck009.html

Suggestions button now labelled "Watch All Suggestions" as before indicates where a regional channel change will enable full time shift access to all channels.

Second button "Alternate Watch Options" identifies for all alternate recording options what channels will be viewable.

Graham,

I'm not sure I'm getting the new option.

If I choose First Recording = 101 BBC1, and Second Recording = 102 BBC2, and click on Alternate Watch Option button, I get the new Two Cables Suggestion window up. It has all the BBC1 variants in the Recording One scrollable box, but lots of duplications in the Recording 2 box & this is non-scrollable.

Selecting one of the first column BBC1 variants does give different watcheable channels in the third column, but you cannot select any of the channels in the second column.

Also, there appears to be some incomplete instructional text "Click and Then", at the bottom of the new window.

Rgds.

Hi Les, your screen must have a little more overscan than mine. It says click and scroll. Only the first list is clickable.

If you look carefully the 2 lists should have every possible combination of BBC1 and BBC2 clicking on any gives the watchable channels for that combination. Once clicked you can scroll up and down.

To adjust the form and listbox sizes for your display.

Load the spreadsheet (don't press any buttons)

Choose Tools/Macro/Visual Basic Editor

In the project box top left open the forms entry

Double Click the TwoCablesSuggestion Form. You can resize the individual items by clicking them and pulling the handles.

Save the changes, you should (hopefully be able to see the whole form)
