Is it possible to convert a signal from a scart socket into a RF signal (in other words from scart to aerial input)?

Not directly from one to the other. You need to convert the audio and video signals (which are seperated in a scart lead) and combine them into an RF type of signal like the signals picked up on an ordinary TV aerial. To do this you need an RF Modulator. You have one built into your Video and Digibox, and a camcorder might have one - its that little black box that links between camcorder and aerial socket.

I think Maplins sell a suitable Modulator for about £25 . It requires power to work so you need to plug it in to mains power / dc transformer.

A cheap way to convert is to connect the scart lead (AV) signals into a video (an old busted video could be used maybe).. turn the video on and set it to its AV setting. The video accepts the incomming signal and using the RF aerial type output, you can then view the signal now it's been converted.

Why do you want to convert the signal?
The quality of the RF signal will be very poor compared to the SCART.

My main TV is connected via scart and via a Sony Dolby Digital /DTS Amp, however I want to send the DVD signal to all the other TVs in my house that are connected via an aerial booster/distribution box. I can do it via my video which is connected in the same way (to the other TVs, not my main set). However this is a bit of a faf, and I can't do this if i'm using the video.

It'll work fine unless your dvd player is still macrovision protected.
