Goodmans Ghdd177 Dvdr Distort Sound

hi sorry if this is in the wrong section i couldent find the right place to start a thread for this.

my problem is ive got a GOODMANS GHDD177 DVDR

no matter what connection i use SCART/COMPOSITE/S.VIDEO/ the sound is very distort ive checked all connections from the freeview box that is wired to it but i no its nothing to do with the freeview box as it is the same if i play a dvd or cd from the drive.

the sound is the same during HDD playback aswell if any body as had same problems or out and they no a fix would be great cheers.

Can you connect the Goodmans to your TV with an aerial lead. Unplug everything else and tune in a channel on your TV so you can watch a DVD or HDD recording. Does the sound still distort?

hi m8 yes ive done what you have said and it is the same i thought it might off been the scart connection but ive tried 3 scart leads two of them new from shop but its not the leads.
the sound is distort even when ive connected the audio out leads to my surround sound.

dont no whats up with it lol ??

Check to see if there's some form of 'audio level' output (NOT volume) control on it. If there is, check that's not a maximum as that would cause distortion.

Some equipment does allow for the audio level on the line out (SCART or Phono outputs) to be adjusted.

hi alan0 thought this myself ive looked on the back and the front and in the setting menu but there is nothing there ive even open the box and looked inside to see if there was some kind of preamp swich but nothing ??
