Song Lyrics in Eastenders Dialogue.
Has anyone else noticed how, occasionaly, Eastenders script writers put song lyrics into the mouths of the characters?
The one I noticed was from a little while back when Phil and Kate were getting it together: Phil (on the phone to Kate): "There's something happening here.." (pause) "...but I don't know what it is" "Ballad of a thin Man" - Bob Dylan Anybody else got any more? |

Not noticed that - but I shall be looking out for it now!
I did read once though (and sorry if everyone knows this) that they play songs in the pub associated with the scene (I think Corrie do this now too, classic example being Richard Hillman driving the car into the canal to the Wannadies!) |

Yes, they appear to do something silmilar in Eastenders, although it's not quite as subtle - or funny. The radio in the caff ot the jukebox in the vic often play tunes that are "appropriate" to the plot line. Makes me cringe every time they do it.
Of course, none of the characters notice - Have you ever heard Dot saying "The Lord must be listening - they're playing my tune"? |

There was a thread with a number of examples a while back. See here.

Yes, very interesting - Especially "Who let the dogs out"!!
But.... Am I alone in hearing lyrics slipped into in the actual dialogue? |
