Does anyone know if its possible to get a cable that adapts a mini headphone socket (like on a laptop or iPod) to the "Red/White" phono style?

Should be pretty easy to get - http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=1218 or http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=31700 depending on what you need (the former if I've understood your question correctly).
