It could be something to do with the option of audio out via Bitstream/PCM, or that the Bush doesn't do sound over HDMI.
Can't be any more specific because you didn't give a model number for the Bush; and even if you did there's no manuals on the Bush web site for us to have a look at. Web support is something where the cheapy brands really suck. |

The Bush (model DS-A241) does a HDMI option. Have tried numerous settings on the TV/DVD player. Changing the dvd player to PCM and the HDMI input on the TV to analogue as for some reason when it in digital there sound but coming from the digital channel! There doesnt seem to be any sound at all from the 5.1 audio option but ok from the 2CH ones. I'm guessing it might be worth trying a new lead unless the LCD which I bought in 2006 might only work with certain hdmi equipments at the time? As the TV manual says the HDMI cable must be a TYPE A connector and the connected equipment must be EIA/CEA-861/861B compliant?

The TV audio setting needs to be on 'Digital' to pick up sound via the HDMI
The DVD player menu settings are harder to be specific about. There's no online manual, so you are going to have to read this and then decide what options on the Bush will give the correct settings.

Audio wants to be PCM

If there's an option to mix down multichannel or 5.1 to stereo PCM then select it.

When you have a DVD film in the player try to select the stereo or Prologic sound track if possible

Selecting DTS will give no sound
Regards Chris |

Thanks for your replies.
The Bush manual is very brief: The Audio set up just has speaker set up and equaliser. On the HDMI set up page, the Audio source is either AUTO or PCM. So I have change the HDMI input to Digital, Bush to PCM. Tried changing the Audio on Bush remote during the film and it seems to be a foreign commentary on the film. |

Got it to work in the end. It seems that I had to connect the audio leads as well. I had assumed that only had to connect via HDMI.
Oh well, got there in the end! Thanks for trying to help. |
