O2 and CPW/mobiles.co.uk
I'm after the i8510 through mobiles.co.uk on O2. I'm currently with O2. I'd like to get the £35/m deal (8 months 1/2 price) with unlimited texts and 600 mins and a free web bolt on... the bolt on however doesn't come as standard with the deal; is there any way of negotiating with O2 direct to try and get this, or do all dealings have to be via mobiles.co.uk operators?? The i8510 s not (yet) available direct through O2, which is a bit annoying. Any advice..?

I spent a week cheasing my tail asking a similar question, coz I wanted the Touch HD wihch is exclsuvie to CPW/mobiles.co.uk. The answer is no, you can't get the free web bolt on if CPW or mobiles.co.uk doesn't offer it. So you either wait for the phone to become available on O2 or pay more for your web blot on. I personally would wait unless you know it will never come to O2.
However, I took out my X1 directly from O2, and I got a really nice deal, I was told my deal is a lot better than some employees of O2... I am happy. |

OP, go ahead and get the 8510i from CPW or mobiles.co.uk, you'll have no problem with operators - you'll be dealing direct with O2 cust services for billing etc. |

don't know where you heard this, as all O2 connections from CPW are billed directly by O2, meaning you can add on any standard bolt-on to your account.
OP, go ahead and get the 8510i from CPW or mobiles.co.uk, you'll have no problem with operators - you'll be dealing direct with O2 cust services for billing etc. So in this case, if malaikah take the phone out CPW, then the line rental would be 35 + 7.5 for the web bolt on. The only way to get the web bolt on for free is to get it directly with O2. I got a senior advisor from CPW who called O2 for me when I wanted to get the Touch HD out with CPW and get the O2 direct contract, coz I dont wanna pay for my web data. The answer was NO, o2 won't give this out for free if you upgrade with CPW. So my advice stands, wait till the phone becomes available on O2, this is being an existing customer with O2, you can then bargain for a better deal. |

yes, but OP wanted 600 minutes AND unlimited texts AND unlimited internet.
Now don't jump on me again , but O2 only appear to offer one or the other, either unltd texts OR unltd internet, but not both for free. This info comes direct from their website, so my orginal advice would not change.btw, a source in an O2 store tells me there is no sign of them taking either the 8510 or the N96, as they have forked out far too much dosh on the iPhone - anyone know if this is true??? |

Depends when you originally took your contract out - alli know is that about the end of 2007, CPW stopped taking on new customers to their own O2 billing platform and instead signed them on to direct O2 billing. Anyone taking out a new contract now is billed directly by O2 - I should know as I have one!
