Hi, a few questions.

What do you mean by frozen? Does it turn on ok? Can you move through the menus ok with the remote? Can you browse to a file but then it doesn't play?

Do you have a hard disk in it? Does it spin up when turned on?

hiya, it doesnt have a disk, but the hard drive makes a clicking noise?.
When its on the tv you can got to the files eg: Movies, but it freezes when you click on it. In the pc you cant even open it, properties etc just cause the pc to stop responding

When it starts up you get two options, Mediaplayer-35 and PC-Network.
Selecting Mediaplayer-35 allows you to browse files on the hard disk that is inside the media player itself.
Having selected this you can then choose music, movie, photo then choose an appropriate file from the hard disk.
Have you tried all three media types? Do they all cause the player to freeze? Have you tried media files that worked fine before and now cause the freeze?

If so it could be a problem with the hard disk in the media player. You could try connecting to a PC via the USB connector, try and play the files on your PC from the mediaplayer via USB.

You could try backing up all your media files onto your PC and then reformat the disk in the mediaplayer. Then copy your files back to the media player and try again.

If this doesn't cure it you can try a firmware upgrade.
You can get the firmware from
http://www.freecom.com/firmware.asp?...factures=12500
Just unzip the file, copy to your mediaplayer hard disk and attempt to "play" it in movie mode. Note there is always a small risk when upgrading firmware on anything. I can't be responsible if it goes wrong.

Is it actually older than 2 years, as they come with a 2 year warranty.

Hi Fred thanks for the reply,
neither option now works, media box just freezes when you click on mediaplayer, so it isnt possible to get into the file so i cant even choose music my photo`s film etc
When i connect to the pc i used to get g drive named media box, this also wont open, even to right click on properties wont work, so i cant even get into format it, media box is 2 yrs old gone xmas so no longer under any warranty, Do you think the hard drive has died? as it was working perfectly fine up to a few days ago

Yes it could be a problem with the drive.
If there is nothing on the disk that you care about you could try to re-partition the drive and format it again if you can, but this relies on it showing up in diskmanager.
You can get to this by right clicking the my computer icon, selecting manage and then disk management. With the media player connected via USB it should show up in here if it is working at all. From here you can delete/re-create the partition and reformat VERY CAREFULLY so you don't touch your PCs Hard disk, if you are not sure don't do it!

If the disk doesn't show up under disk management then you may need to replace the drive inside which is relatively easy if you've done that sort of thing before.
