I thought LCD's were OK to lie flat?

Plasma no, but LCD yes?

Much easier to damage the TV by dropping something on it yes, but it won't actually do it any harm just by the act of lying it flat ....

**EDIT**

Having re-read it, I think you are saying "No, it won't damage it."

As oppose to replying to the thread title "LCD safe to lie flat ...... no."

I think ...

Well the only worry is about the liquid crystals running out the overflow at the top of the screen..

Makes for a colourful carpet though

Liquid crystals also aren't coloured anyway, I saw a big plastic bottle full of them last year - they are a grey colour.

I was replying to his query...

"I need to know will it damage it if I lie it flat with the lcd side up to the ceiling?"

So "no" was my answer.

Shouldn't be an issue at all. My box was lied down in the car for a long journey, then I put it on the sofa whilst I removed the stand so it could go on an LCD stand, and no problem at all.

Plasma may be a different story, but seen as we are not talking about plasma, I'll shut up

you might want to cover it with something though

Amazing what you find in Tesco, if you look hard enough!

I'd say it's safer to transport it vertically, especially the bigger sets, but there's probably no problem if it's stored under a bed and not moving.

To keep the bed bugs distracted enough so they don't bite him/her in the bed.
