I had the "Piers Morgan on - ......" series to record on Series Link, using the Guide, and Selecting the HD option.

We watched the first recording, on Dubai, and then the next week my wife was looking through the Schedule and told me it was missing (luckily, before the programme was due to start). I started to doubt myself that I had put it on Series Link, so I set it up again and decided to check it each day in the Schedule.

Well it stayed in the Schedule, and recorded successfully, and after recording, the next week's programme was in the Schedule OK.

We only got round to watching the second programme last night. I know next week's was still in the Schedule before watching this week's; but after watching & deleting it, next week's scheduled recording disappeared again. I think this must have been what happened in the first week too.

Anyone else seen this behaviour?

Rgds.

Nope, my timers are updating OK for this Series...

Have you carried out a freesat scan at all, in the periods between episodes?

No, I haven't re-scanned since I first got the box and set it up.

I haven't been into non-freesat mode either since first having a play with it.

All my other timers look OK.

You are going to lose the will with this response

So far there have been 2 episodes (I think):

29 Jan
5 Feb

The first glitch you had, could be explained away with my reasoning, because your unit will have automatically added channels end of January - 27th they were added, and if you did not rescan, then the unit would of (if you did not cancel it) the next time you brought it out of standby.

The second one, no idea....just rechecked mine, and it is still in the schedule, will keep an eye on it.

and

Just in case others are not aware (although I think it has been covered) a freesat scan deletes ITV HD timers.

Thanks for that, Barry.

I didn't know new channels were automatically added, I just assumed it would be like my 9300T, where you have to rescan yourself.

So, that may explain the first one, but then why didn't I lose ALL my timers with this automatic freesat scan?

(I'm assuming, like me you have watched and deleted the previous episodes?)

With your last point, doesn't a freesat scan delete ALL timers (not just ITV HD) ?

Just been checking to make sure I am not passing you duff info.

1. I know for sure that the unit will automatically pick up changes to the freesat channel line up, and present you with a popup asking if you want to rescan for the 'added, removed, changed channels' - when you bring it out of standby.

2. Just checked by risking a freesat scan, and only ITV HD timers are deleted, the rest (all 32 of them remained intact)

3. Yes watched, and deleted previous episodes.

This is of course with version 1.00.02 of the software.

Thanks for looking, Barry.

Point 1. - That's interesting, I haven't seen that popup. Could be because I DO put it into standby every night, and boot it up, in the background, next day whilst we are watching a Freeview channel, to "avoid" the 30 second bootup wait. So, I am probably missing any startup messages

Point 2. - Thinking about this a bit more, I'm not sure it has done this rescan then, as my timers for Wild at Heart on ITV HD have been OK, so it wouldn't account for the first Piers Morgan schedule going missing. Oh well, I'll keep an eye for any other "unexplained" schedules disappearing, especially on ITV HD.

I'm on 1.00.02 software, too.

Thanks for the info.

Rgds.

Barry,

I've just checked my HDR, and my Wild at Heart timer HAD gone !! (Good job this thread caused me to check it, I would not have been popular in this house )

AND, my timer for the England/Spain match had gone too. I absolutely know I set this up on 6/2 (See my thread on 6/2 about the possibility of Manual Recording ITV HD).

So, I think your theory of a freesat rescan having happened does seem to hold water.

But ...... I only got the box on the 28/1, and set it all up on the afternoon of the 29/1. So, I assume it's initial scan would have picked up these additional channels. The first Piers Morgan programme of the Series, would have been one of the first programmes it recorded.

Have there been any additional channels added since then to cause a rescan? How can I find out this information, please?

If this does turn out to be the reason, then there must have been additions/rescan between the 6/2, and today, for it to have deleted my England/Spain timer.

Is there any hidden menu which would tell me the last time a scan was done?

Rgds.

Ah, thanks Graham, that's useful.

But nothing added since end of Jan, so that doesn't explain my situation.

Is there a hidden menu anywhere that will tell me the last time the box scanned for channels?

Rgds.
