Has anyone who is reading this from Spain or Portugal, compared the performance of the Humax Freesat HDR with the old Sky+ Pace 3100 ST Box ?
My Pace box signals are 70 Strength & 90 Quality
My Humax box gave 100 Strength & 100 Quality, when I manually entered the 11778 V default frequency that Sky boxes report on.
The rest of my signals are below.
I used the same 2 coax leads for both ST Boxes, the dish is 80cm & my location is the middle of Gers in SW France.
I'm puzzled as to why the readings are different because I thought they both measured the INCOMING signal.

I imagine that it's simply that the signal measuring capability of a stb is pretty basic compared to a proper meter. Having said that there are threads that indicate the foxsat might be little deaf at the high frequency end (Rai Uno I think)

In searching for your lead, re Rai Uno & high frequency deafness of the Humax PVR, it became clear that I could have added this thread to one of several other existing threads, running on Foxsat that were running before this PVR was issued.

I apologise for missing that, & perhaps the Moderator could move these 3 posts in that direction.

Regarding Rai Uno's STB's high frquency deafness, from the various other threads, I think it is possible that that particular box may be a little below par. Also that differences between Pace & Humax STBs, if real, are not huge.
I will try to contribute by comparing my 2 STBs by signal masking then checking which box loses which channels first, once the weather allows ladder work

Meanwhile here are some strange meter readings to compare with both the Foxsat STB signals. sorted by frequency & polarity.
