Can anyone recommend the best (and cheapest) cases for a 160GB ipod classic? Are screen protectors a good idea?

Any other protection I should think about? (Anyone who says "condoms" will receive a cyber-punch in the mouth).

I want to keep it in tip-top condition, so that I can flog it and get an Archos when my financial situation is better. (They'll probably have holographic versions that fire phasers before that happens. )

I use this :

Covers everything except the scroll wheel . . . .
The front cover / stand is removable.

Bloody hell! That looks good.

Before I go for this, has anyone got any cheaper alternatives?

Belkin leather cases

I've had one for two or three years, no troubles at all.

Actually, I too had an idea of getting an Archos at one time, but thought better of it - the Ipod has a hugely better battery life.

Just found this.

http://www.bestskinsever.com/servlet/StoreFront

Apparently it's exxactly the same stuff as the Invisible Shield - just doesn't come in retail packaging (posted in an ordinary envelope) without solution (it's just soap and water, so you can easily make your own) and no applicator bottle. However it's one-third of the price!

Just ordered. Will try and report back.

I got this. It does the job but makes the wheel less sensitive:
