Confirmed hours of big deal is 6pm-5am. The Jewelry channel is on the channel 6pm-2am and JCM direct is on the channel 2am-5am.

There is a MHEG that says big deal tune in at 6pm.

5am-6am still unused on this slot.

Credit to Muzer for checking out the start of JCM Direct as I only managed to see the end

The fact that a "national" satellite station is trialling Freeview on a local mux is significant. Anyway - this is a changelog thread, not a place to comment on the merits or not of the channels involved. I'm not a mod, but I'd like you to do that elsewhere please.

I agree - it could potentially begin the start of a new era where you get a different Freeview service depending on where you live. I, for one, don't care unless a channel I'm really interested in launches somewhere I'm not

Back to facts. QVC Beauty has obtained a Freeview licence.

QVC Beauty has launched at LCN48 on Mux D / Arq B. It is using the former Create & Craft slot from 8am-1pm. An off air Mheg caption in pink on a white background is being shown saying "Back at 8am".

The old Create & Craft caption saying "Retune now" is still being broadcast, although this will not be seen after a retune on Mux D. Create & Craft was broadcast in the old slot today duplicated for the last time.

Also the duplicate NIT & SDT entries of Channel Zero on Mux C have been removed. This will stop iDTVs detecting false new channels. However this is a false dawn because LCN45 TBA has had all its streams removed (so no caption) but its entries remain in the NIT & SDT. So all iDTVs will be reporting new channels once again.

So LCN45 TBA has been removed, probably because it has had 3 months without launching.

Now 103 SD channels in pre DSO England.

Retune required on Mux D / Arq B.

TBA is gone. the only reason it still appears is because its NIT entries are still there.

There is nothing on it its blank.

ADULT Smile TV 3 (LCN 95) is for definite on a timeshare with Create & Craft and Big Deal. EPG for Create & Craft indicates that they would start at 5am.

ADULT Party (LCN 97) is for definite on a timeshare with Price Drop TV. At 05:00, we'll see whether it still timeshares Community.

Change:
All traces of channel (LCN) 45 have now been removed. This followed the removal of the MHEG (text) screen two weeks ago. [Some TV's/boxes may have stopped recognising the channel when that happened.] The channel never launched.

Changes on Mux C / Arq A today.

A new 9th stream has appeared carrying LCN43 GemsTV.

As a result of this LCN19 Dave & LCN29 E4+1 have reduced resolution and audio mode from 720x576 and 192kbps stereo to 544x576 and 128kbps joint.

A caption for LCN193 ADULT Babestn2 has appeared.

The old Gems TV on Mux A / SDN is without LCN but still showing the old caption.

Ouch! Picture and sound quality being drastically reduced to squeeze in a shopping channel!! That's gotta hit home where it hurts! Not just Dave and E4 +1, but Sky News, Pick TV and it's timeshift have also gone down. These channels now look soft and fuzzy and the sound is very tinny.

DTT will only continue to get even worse than it is now. Glad I exited the Freeview system three years ago.

QUEST has carried on broadcasting across the 1am boundary, formerly timeshared by Gems TV, so we can safely assume that QUEST is now 24/7 the same as its satellite and cable channels. They stop for unspecified teleshopping between 8am & 11am on all platforms.

Update to above: all Mux C / Arq A TV services are now running at 544x576 resolution and 128kbps joint stereo audio.

Today: First 3D non-test pictures on Freeview LCN54 BBC HD channel. Firstly recordings of the Wimbledon men's semi finals and later the women's final live. The cameras are positioned for maximum "whizzy" effect suitable for gamers and tennis fans will not be impressed IMHO.

2D viewers will see two side by side images. To watch it in 3D on Freeview requires a 3D TV set and a UK HD tuner (DVB-T2).
