Er, no, Channel 5+1 has been launched on LCN 44, Pick TV+1 closed down some time ago. Anyway, all of this has already been logged.
It's still took over the EPG position previously held by PICK TV+1 obviously the capacity for C5+1 came from another slot.

This thread is for logging changes to Freeview only. Please continue your discussion in a seperate thread.
Re The Movies 4 Men channels etc....

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the Manchester area have one of the extra local muxes? It is therefore appropriate to the Freeview changelog.

Bye for now

Paula

The changes to the Manchester mux at beginning of November was logged in post 895 http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...&postcount=895
The forum member concerned lost these channels as a result of a localised reception issue, and thus isn't a change for logging.

If forum members have lost access to channels, it is wise to
a) search the forum for a thread on the subject
and if a thread is not there
b) ask the question in the wider Freeview forum - not the Changelog.

It will soon become apparent if the "change" is actually due to a localised reception problem, or a fault in the forum member's equipment.

In the event that following a post elsewhere in the forum, it appears to be a geniune change to the digital terrestrial platform, forum members across the UK will be able to confirm it, the regions in which the change applies (e.g. post-Digital Switchover/pre-Digital Switchover regions), and it can then be posted in the Changelog (example Rocks and Co extended hours).

---------------------------------------------------------
I would like to clarify the post from Bizman earlier:

LCN 26 Home is on air Friday only 1100-1200
As this is a non-Freeview channel, further information can be found over in the Top Up TV forum.

LCN 40 Rocks and Co: this change has already been logged 01/12/2011 and does not apply to London, Meridian, Tyne Tees or Ulster viewers

LCN 43 Gems TV has been 24 hours since 30/06/2011. (post 821)

The only change today for Freeview viewers (i.e. those who don't have Top Up TV) is that C5+1 has now gone live following the re-activation of channel 44 yesterday (which had been removed earlier this year following Pick TV+1's departure, but may not have disappeared from your line up if you don't retune often and have a non-autoretuning piece of equipment). If you have retuned today, some of the changes made last week may now be reflected in your channel line up for the first time.

------------------------------------------------------------
I realise the whole thing about the Changelog is strict - however it has a special status as a 'pinned' or 'sticky' thread, and for it to retain maximum usefulness for all forum members who subscribe to, or browse this thread, all changes should be confirmed/verified prior to posting. This will help avoid conflicting information being posted here.

General discussions about a change, or the content of a new channel, or the policy allowing a certain type of channel on Freeview, remain in the rest of the Freeview forum, as this thread would go completely off-topic, if we started debating the merits of +1 channels etc here, and would disappoint members clicking on the Changelog expecting a change only to find such a discussion (and I realise that some forum members will be disappointed to see this post of mine instead of a change being logged).

Can I politely ask that if anyone does log a change, that you post a link to a discussion thread (create a new one if there isn't one) to direct forum members start to the relevant discussion thread (saves searching for it, especially if it has an obscure title!).

Local retune events & switchover related posts affecting individual transmitter groups are found in the technical sub-forum, whereas national retunes (all areas within a UK nation or UK as a whole), e.g. an EPG reshuffle or a new channel addition, can be mentioned here.
Thanks.

Playboy TV Chat

According to the tv guide (which is bizzare) there are two schedules on my tv guide one say 00:00 till 05:30 and other say 05:30(or 0600 as it also indercates on the guide) till 12:00pm.

On screen says:

"Whilst where off-air why not warm up by talking to a off-screen girl:
(number on the channel)
Calls to 09 numbers charged at £1.53ppm+£1.50 connection.(so it costs a min £3.03ppm at the start) Calls from mobiles will be significantly higher. Live calls are recorded in line with PPP regulations. Live services are provided by (address is on channel plus the help line number).

New channel appeared on Mux D / Arq B

LCN116 Racing UK

Small text caption in bottom right hand corner "Powered by: CONNECT-TV (c)"

It appears to be ipTV and so needs an HD box with live broadband connection. It is also a pay TV channel.

Verified by Direct Observation.

LCN101 Teletext Hols has had its 32kbps audio channel removed (also used by LCN104 1-2-1 Dating). Also the data rate of Teletext Hols has been reduced from 277kbps to 139kbps. The surplus bitrate has been added to the Mux A / SDN null packet rate. This all happened last week probably on Thursday. At one time Teletext Holidays used over 700kbps.

The Men and Movies suite of channels which were carried on the Greater Manchester local mux from LCN201 to LCN205 have today been removed from the EPG.

Source: DMOL

They had been deactivated ever since Sony Pictures bought the channels owner Dolphin TV a few weeks ago according to reports on this forum.

Confirmed by direct observation, all the Movies4men channels have vanished as Ray Cathode reported. The mux is still running at QAM16 , FEC 3/4, GI 1/32 and just Channel M appears on 200 now.

Further discussion on the channel M thread please: http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showt...1197918&page=8

This has been the case since late last year (1 Dec) when Big Deal extended hours in post switchover regions. This was covered half way down the previous page. Please check before posting.

Is this the same one as on Sky, which is barely SD most of the time?
