You're clearly picking up a signal from a Welsh transmitter and it's prioritising that over the nearest English transmitter (probably because it's stronger).”

Yes you are right about BBC4, silly me. But we have never received S4C on number 4 before. It was always further up.

Edit: Yup, I've just stuck a 12dB attenuator in and this time the scan has come out right. Is there enhanced reception going on at the moment, as this has never happened before?

S4C has always been on channel 4 in Wales. Your receiver might have put it higher up if you were receiving from both English and Welsh transmitters, depending on what it found first. But please, this is not a chat/general queries thread, it is a log of confirmed changes that have happened on Freeview. Can we let it rest there?

S4C Clirlun ceased transmission on the Welsh HD mux at 23:59:00 yesterday. C4HD video and audio were added at approx 06:15 this morning replacing an MHEG placeholder. There is a new bilingual placeholder on 105 informing viewers of the channel numbers where they can find S4/C SD on various platforms.

This is a log for Freeview changes which have actually occured. Rumour, speculation, and planned future changes which haven't actually happened yet have no place here.
