Given that they've been closed for a while now I'm wondering why Vutv and Sin Tv haven't been removed from the epg yet?

An update popped up my TV (with built in Freeview HD built in) saying a new DVB is broadcasting...press OK to add this DVB service. It installed but I can't see what the new DVB service/channel is. It had already updated in the week for the rescan for CBS Drama & Horror Channel reshuffle. Anybody what has been added this evening?

Sexbomb is being overly picky. Licensing issues are critical components of the changelog.

Ofcom seems to have taken the view that channels which are delivered via an IPTV link to a Freeview LCN - perhaps via an umbrella frontend - require a DTAS licence. the DTPS licence is for the version of the channel which is fully delivered via terrestrial (and perhaps for <24 hours).

I don't fully understand that comment, but for those unaware, there is a separate licensing change log here.

Not quite: if it's got moving images it needs a DTPS licence, a DTAS licence is for text and IP based services. 365 Travel in its current format falls into the DTAS category.

Back to the changelog:

RT HD (COM7) - Channel 113
Movies4Men+1 - moves to the channel graveyard, to channel 793 (COM7)

You've missed my point. The DTAS service definition was already very weak and is now obsolete - with "...a service that is not a DTPS service" as the primary defining term!

Historically, DTAS was indeed mainly for Text. But in the last year or so, we have all these IP-delivered services, which to the viewer look just like normal TV services.

Ofcom's licensing regime is in dire need of review, as TLCS, DTPS and DTAS are almost all TV services, but which just happen to be delivered via different transmission technology. Now add ATVOD-regulated services, which have now been taken fully back into Ofcom regulation, with Ofcom struggling to explain how they will be regulated, now that they've disposed of the pointless ATVOD quango.

The Licence application and regulatory process has become needlessly cumbersome, with the paperwork virtually identical, with the only differentiation being the delivery mechanism, which is irrelevant, since Ofcom already regulates the platforms for all of them.

Can you please move this conversation elsewhere? It does not befit a changelog.

I noticed Movies4Men+1 was not broadcasting anymore and moved to one of the 700 channel number. This is on my YouView box this morning. Sorry if this has been reported before, I had a quick look I couldn't see anything.

Al Jazeera English will be an HD only service from now on, as their SD version on 133 (COM6) now tells you to watch it through that 'platform'.

(switch to caption happened at 11:59:30 if anyone is curious)

This is very intriguing! A sign of things to come?

Home is now on air on channel 25.

(Looks like UKTV has took over the feed previous used by Aljazeera Eng SD).
