It's not like Roxy has actually done any complicated footwork herself. When she does skate alone it's usually just in a big circle. I can do that around the ice rink. Not particularly impressive.

I find that a terribly rude and unnecessary remark. There could be people on these boards with media degrees. Don't you care if you upset and offend other users?

You clearly have little emotional intelligence and understanding to know that remark is completely rude and demeaning to people who worked hard for their degree.

I don't know about the poster you are replying to but I have every respect for people who work hard for any qualification. However, these days you can do a degree in just about anything that is not worth the paper the qualification is written on, media studies being just one example.

Personally I care more about people being led up the garden path into spending 4 years of their lives studying for a pointless degree.

I would like to know how you know how hard she works. If Jason picked on me me like he picks on her week after week I would have said a lot worse to him. The man is an idiot.

It's not anyone else's fault that she can't take criticism. Ellery gets much harsher comments then she does and he tries very hard and puts his heart into everything. Does he make silly childish comments? No he says thank you and vows to try harder. And besides the other judges gave very similar marks to Jason which means they think the exact same as he does, she's not very good.

Perhaps you missed out on the fact that she was asked to reply to Jayson's comments and perhaps you have missed out on his nasty comments over recent weeks to her and perhaps you dont like strong women who stand up for themselves against idiots like Jason who like the sound of their own voice.

No I did watch the show and yes she was asked to comment. All the contestants are asked to comment after the judges have given excellent or awful comments. Jason is very up front and yes sometimes he is rude but what he says makes sense. His comments yesterday made perfect sense. Her leg lines are awful. The headbanger was ungraceful and unsightly and I actually said to my OH that she looked like a sack of potatoes before he said it. She must have known what Jason was going to be like if she wasn't brilliant, she chose to subject herself to the comments to further her career just like the rest of them did.

The other contestants are prepared to take those comments on board, she is not. A couple of weeks ago Jason was very rude to Ellery and Phillip asked him if he'd like to reply given that he was a lot bigger then Jason and Ellery was the perfect gentleman. It is possible to be strong and stand up for yourself without appearing to be a bratty teenager pouting and tossing your hair.

There have been plenty of strong women on DOI, Suzanne Shaw and Clare Buckfield come to mind immediately and I loved both of them. Roxy's attitude does not appeal to me sorry.

She's really not that great at all. You can tell from her face that she thinks she is though.

That lift was atrocious, and Jason was being gracious about it. She cocked it up herself for starters, and it was from an awful position, into an awful position. It's supposed to go from skating to lift to skating, not from lying on the floor to lifted to throwing on the floor.

Jason is harsh but generally does have the right idea with his comments. Could just do with putting them better.

Though whoever said she wants to be up there with Ray, Jessica, and Zoe.
And Zoe? Zoe is nowhere near up there. She's rubbish too.

Erm, shes taken criticism for the past 5 weeks! There's only so much nastiness she can take.

Yes the judges give similar marks, but are they as horrible and rude as Jason? No they aren't, they have basic manners and some compassion, something that Jason obviously lacks.

I didn't say she didn't work hard, I said she needed to work harder. Also, you don't know either do you, so please calm down.

IMO she comes across as a little know-it-all who doesn't believe she needs to be told anything. Again, I.M.O.

She grates on me and I find her skating, I wont call it dancing, unexciting.

She's not strong, she's immature. It takes more strength to accept criticism and work on it than it does to insult someone. He wasn't insulting her. He was giving her constructive criticism and advice. Perhaps you missed that.

Agreed. This week I thought Jason was constructive and was disappointed at Schofield encouraging verbal sparring.

Jason is pretty nasty to Roxy each week, it's clear he doesn't like her and has made his decision before she skates. There is nothing constructive for her to work on. Didn't find her rude at all, she could have said so much more.

Week 5:
It's like going to the dentist, I never look forward to you performance. Your performance is passionless. It's a beautiful number but you didn't emote at all. Your leg lines are still abysmal at this stage of the competition. I really want you to improve on those and pay attention to the details. That headbanger, unfortunately, is like swinging a sack of potatoes.

Week 4:
For me it started off promisingly and you had very nice moments. That's the problem, those nice moments are not sustained. Your spiral let you down - it wobbled. Again, I keep saying it to all of you, but it's core stability. Work on your core so that there's not these moments where we're thinking oh, will she or won't she? (Roxanne: UGH! Give us a bit, we're trying, we're trying!) Well I'm sorry darling, but I'm TRYING to give you advice. Take it on board!

That is more or less word for word what Jason said. 95% of it is constructive. You people are seizing on his "I never look forward to your performances" to say that all he does is insult her when it's just flat out not true.

She's there to be criticised. Aside from Ray they have all be criticised every week and even Ray was criticised in week four. Jason has been far harsher to Ellery and Donel then he has to Roxy yet they take it on the chin and work harder, she whines.

As Psychosis has pointed out the comments are not /that/ harsh. And there is a lot of constructive things in there that she can work on. That she chooses not to is her decision.

As I have stated before, that remark was nasty, unnecessary and was in no way constructive. With an opening remark like that then personally I would have stopped listening to him .

Exactly, constructive critisism never starts with a nasty negative comment.

The only person who done it from a standing up position was Suzanne and wasn't it Dan who got the hold wrong,Roxy looked pretty tight to me. Looked good in training.

No, Roxy either gave him the wrong foot or her foot was in the wrong place.

Then the fact that you or she stopped listening to him is the reason why you or she aren't aware that 95% of what he has said to her is constructive Nobody but you (not him) to blame for that.

That is a point on which you and I will have to disagree Psychosis, particularly since it was that remark that prompted a barrage of booing from the audience drowning out much of what followed IIRC. If Jason wishes for his critique, and himself, to be taken seriously then perhaps he should try to be a little more professional with a little less of the attempt at being 'Mr Witty'.

I thought Bonnie did too. Clare going into it via balancing on a chair was quite impressive.

I think Roxanne will get away with cheeky remarks as long as she looks like she improving and/or it's only Jason giving critical comments. She talks back to Robin, Nicky or Karen and her skates won't hit the ice on the way to the skate off.
