Hi all.
I would like some advice or opinions please.
My Sony KDL52W4000 has two dead white pixels just off to the right of the centre of the screen.
It is not always noticable ,but after shelling out a lot of money i would have expected a perfect tv!
After watching a program last night the sky in a certain scene looked like it had two bright stars in the night sky.
I m very Satisfied with the tv overall ,it has a awsome picture.
I have only had the tv 1 week.
Does anyone know or think its worth bothering to complain about as the chances are i may get a similar problem on a replacement set.
What would you do?
Thanks in advance.

I would complain about it - usually Sony sets are free of duff pixels. As a Sony approved service agent I change any panel that a customer complains about, even for a single dead pixel - it's a premium product, it shouldn't have any duff pixels.

Nigel, do Sony ever query the returns that have a pixel or two faulty?

Dead pixels can be transcient. There are techniques that can sometimes bring them back to life.

One that worked for me, although it took rather a long time, was to gently tap the pixel with a finger wrapped in a microfibre cloth - the type you can get from Tesco's for household cleaning. DONT use any force.

It is best, of course, if the cloth is brand new, but they only cost a quid for two.

It's probably not an approved way of fixing them, but it worked for me on a VideoSeven LTV30C. The light dabbing every day for a few seconds certainly fixed it, but it took a week or so at about 5 minutes a day.

They have never reject a claim yet, and all faulty panels are returned to Barcelona for examination.
