Pure DAB Products - Reliable?
Julian Temple

Does anybody else have issues with the reliability of Pure's DAB products - or am I just unlucky?

I have had to have 2 replacement units for my Pure Legato unit and the last one has just completely failed and Pure's response is to suggest I buy a reconditioned unit as they don't even offer a repair service for this unit.

I've got a Pure Highway DAB radio and I've had it since last August - which has never had a problem.

I've also got a Morphy Richards Ordio Rewind DAB radio - which I've had loads of problems with. Sometimes it won't even switch on (it powers up but shows nothing on the display and won't let you select FM or DAB, select a station etc), and even when it has selected a station it sometimes just loses the signal, and you have to change to a different station then retune to the one you were on to get it to continue transmitting. I've never had to do this with the Pure.

Therefore, I would suggest that DAB radios in general aren't particularly reliable, but Pure equipment seems better than other manufacturers. But of course, I can only comment on the kit that I have got.

With the Pure Bug I'm feeling 3rd time lucky. I had two replacements under the guarantee. But that was a while ago and all seems well now.
If fairness my other Pure DAB radio has given no problem. I think the Bug had problems that related more to the firmware.

Yes and no. I had two Pure Evoke 1s, one of them broke and one of them didn't. Hope that answers your question
