LCD Flat screen layers?

I'ts not really a problem, I just wonder if anybody else has noticed it, and knows what causes it.

I have a 37 inch LG LCD flatscreen TV and, sometimes on closeups of faces, for example, skin textures or blemishes appear to move separately from the rest of the face, as if they, the textures or blemishes were on a transparent sheet overlying the rest of the face. The movement is small and doesn't cause any reduced enjoyment of the picture, I just wondered if it might be a characteristic of LCD technology generally or specific to LG televisions.

It's more likely a characteristic of either the compression used, or processing in the TV. Try turning off any 'enhancements' or 'tricks' on the TV (such as noise reduction, movement enhancement etc.).
