I have just got my new Freesat + box today and its working great, but i have read a few posts about being able to add other satellite FTA channels.

I tried this and once it found them all i had lost all my previous channels and the channel list had gone weird.

Is it possible to have the normal freesat channels, and then be able to add certain new channels without losing the original channels?

This is not normal. You lose any recording schedules that you may have set but it should not affect your freesat epg other than having to reenter recording timers

I think i just got mixed up. It didn't actually lose the other channels, but they seemed to be in different positions, if this makes any sense?

Is it that i just have to sort all the channels out manually afterwards and delete the ones i don't want.

when i found the channels, there seemed to be loads of BBC One, loads of Channel 4 etc.

anyway, i'll keep having a play around and get used to it.

The channel order in non freeesat mode is random and depends on the order you scanned them. You can delete the ones you don't want and sort the rest as you want them. After this you should be able to use non freesat mode to watch and record any channel without affecting your freesat timers

You will get most of the ITV regions (those that are fta anyway) in freesat mode you only get your local region on 103 and london ITV on 977. The BBC regions are in the freesat epg but at the end of the list
