Lets just hope anyone but Gareth Gates takes the prize home because no way was his song the best this year lol.

But sadly looking at the demographic of the show i think he will

Sadly, he wont! not this year.. but I'm sure he doesn't care much as he still had the 2nd highest selling single of the year - so far!

This show is a f***ing joke. It's a sham.
It's just like another smash hits award.
GG will win with Spirit in the Sky
Just like he won last year with a COVER VERSION!
Record of the year a cover version? That's a sad state of affairs.

I agree. It's like when you can be nominated for the Best British Single Brit award by doing a cover. It doesn't really make sense.

The Stereophonics's music has been very lame this year, I reckon. My favourite song of the year is Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous by Good Charlotte.

You could say that Avril Lavigne produces pop/rock songs. At least she's done some decent stuff this year...

I love that Sterephonics record. But I dunno if it will be in the record of the year - doesnt it have to get to Number One to be in with a chance??

Avril Lavigne: Er....ok, but I cant take her seriously as a punk...but I like that song " Losing Grip "

I realise this is a prime time ITV show, so you're not going to have the likes of Radiohead or The White Stripes on the show, but how can they leave out 'All the things she said' by t.A.T.u.

It was number one for four weeks. Then they go and include 'Mandy' by Westlife. Not even the most loyal Westlife fan could possibly justify that.

Can anybody think of any other glaring omissions?

For all those on here that have posted that GG will win with Spirit in the Sky....................he won't, cos that song wasn't even listed.

Now, im no Gareth fan, but i actually thought that particular track was a good charity single, and until recently, was the biggest selling song of the year......................yet not listed. That is strange, likely the producers don't want repeats of Westlife winning for two years in a row (cos GG won last year) but i do still think it should have been listed.

I noticed TaTu as well and also noted these other absentee's :

Blue
Robbie Williams
Pink

Anyone else?

Where can you see the list for saturday's show??

And if it is Busted, it won't be for 'Crashed the Wedding'. That wasn't nominated. It was Year 3000.

BTW, I just found out that Spirit in the Sky can't be included as it's a charity song. What the hell has that got to do with it?

The final list for record of the year is
Busted - Year 3000
Fatman Scoop - Be faithful
Evanescence - Bring me to life
Room 5 - Make Luv
Rachel Stevens - Sweet dreams my LA ex
Westlife - Mandy
Beyonce - Crazy in love
Black Eyed Peas - Where is the love?
Daniel Beddingfield - If your not the one
Dido - White Flag

Not a great list is it.

Can't believe Blu Cantrell, Eminem and Christina Aguilera weren't included, And i am suprised that Girls Aloud didn't get in.
Hopefully Evanescence will win but it'll probably be Busted or Westlife.

That's not quite the final list. There are twenty records to vote for to find the final ten. You can vote here.

It's a complete waste of time as you have to vote for 2 records in each of the following groups.

Group A

Busted - Year 3000
Fat Man Scoop - Be Faithful
David Sneddon - Stop Living the Lie
Kevin Lyttle - Turn Me On

Group B

Cheeky Girls - Cheeky Song
Junior Senior - Move Your Feet
Evanescence - Bring Me to Life
Room 5 feat Oliver Cheatham - Make Luv

Group C

Rachel Stevens - Sweet Dreams My LA Ex
Blue Cantrell ft Sean Paul - Breathe
R Kelly - Ignition Remix
Westlife - Mandy

Group D

Beyonce - Crazy in Love
Black Eyed Peas - Where is the Love?
Eminem - Lose Yourself
Christina Aguilera - Beautiful

Group E

Daniel Bedingfield - If You're Not the One
Dido - White Flag
50 Cent - In Da Club
Girls Aloud - SOund of the Underground

How can the Cheeky Girls be included but not Tatu? What if you only like 1 record in a group? I love Evanescence but I refuse to vote for the Cheeky Girls, Room 5 feat Oliver Cheetham or Junior Senior who are in the same group. It's the usual farce and does not reflect either the best records of the year or the biggest selling.
