Hi all,
I know this has probably been covered off in other posts, but we are just joining BT and are curious as to whether or not we are likely to pay the reconnection charge (NB no tone when phone plugged in).
Our house is connected through overhead cable, which goes into one of the bedrooms. There are two sockets here, but it looks like someone wired in another line to run outside of the house and in the front door - this box was ripped off the wall when we moved in, and we have also done ltos of work on the house since (two and a half years ago).
My house mate has decided the best thing to do is rip the 'extension' line out just in case a) the engineer sees this and decides to bill us because it is not connected to the wall & b) in case there is dodgy wiring causing a fault.
Based on that brief description, does anyone have any rpevious experiences with BT that would give us a clue as to whether or not we will be charged?
I have read the other threads on BT reconnection, but nothing seem to cover this particular situation!
Thanks in advance all!
Chris
