I've noticed she's half-laughing when the numbers game is ridiculously easy!

That was really weird today, both contestants failed to get an easy numbers game: (75 x 4) - (6 x 5) = 270 & I also failed to see/get it.

He was pretty good, particularly on the numbers as Rachel noted. (What was she wearing today BTW, she looked like she was dressed like an extra from Adam Ant's 'Prince Charming' video). On a personal level I was pleased to match him and also get the 8 letter 'violated', I'm not sure why he felt the need to say "I'll try an 8" on that one though, violated is a reasonably common saying surely.

I don't watch it so had to google to see who that is. She's a little girl! Which one do you mean from today's? Although facially I can't remember them that well. I must say on today's first sighting I thought the challenger (now current champion) was probably going to be below average. Totally wrong!

I think the only person who can beat Thomas is probably himself if the nerves get to him. He always looks so tension ridden.

What the heck was Rachel wearing today? She looked like a waitress in a Lyons Corner House.

Good game today, I thought that one would be close. I forget his name but the winner looks like he may well give Thomas a run for his money on Monday.

Favourite out! The challenger pulled a nine letter word out in the last letters game of the day.
And Rachel Riley is getting prettier. I know, I didn't think it was possible either. |

That was one of the best semi-finals I can remember. What a game and what a comeback!

I was certain Thomas was going to get that conundrum and force a draw and the need for another one, but no.
![]() Great game today. Well done Matthew, very impressive. |

Just seen today's and I think he will be this series winner, but I hope he's not. I'm not fond of him. Whilst he doesn't particularly come across as smug or arrogant I think its slightly inappropriate when, for example, your opponent goes first and says "I've got a seven" and you then say "I'll stick with an eight", which I think he done a couple of times today. What's that all about, it comes across to me as someone possibly trying to intimidate the opponent and assert some sort of superiority over them which I don't find an attractive trait. Or, am I reading too much into this and does he in fact believe he can potentially see a nine letter word and is hoping Susie will say "what were you thinking of trying?", which she didn't and which makes me question such behaviour.
Anyway, not sure he will but I hope Matthew wins tomorrow. |

Incidentally, Jonathan was on for a record score of 147 going into the final numbers game, but Stephen scuppered it in choosing that hideous 4 large selection. I presume that's what the groaning was about. I don't mind Jonathan, but I think I will probably be rooting for Matthew tomorrow aswell. After seeing off Thomas, he deserves it. |

I like to think "I'll stick with an eight" is generally intended to sound of relief for not having to chance a dubious offering, but I've no doubt some do it for intimidation and/or showboating. Indeed I really don't know why people can't say just "eight".

Nice to see two normal people in the final instead of the usual savants.
Loved it when Nick said, Rachel has something special for you.
