Probably the people like me who have paid to see him live and find him extremely funny.

I usually find him very funny, but I was surprised that he didn't remove that wig today. I was expecting it during his "spot" but he didn't mention it. It wasn't a very convincing syrup.

The theme of his piece today was along the lines of 'Be Yourself .. Don't Be Afraid To Be Different' etc. He certainly looked different which merely served to illustrate his point.

By the way, I only find his humour mildly tittyfelarious, but the wife can't stand him at all! I think it's time we had that ex-lab technician guy back - was his name something like Dave Spikey? Now he is a funny man!

It's good fun, isn't it? I love the fact there is a late night, sexy, grownup version of a words and numbers game on prime time telly.

My recording must've failed today. Irish chappie looking unbeatable in the last couple I saw.

Yep the wig was most likely an April Fool thing. It was pretty much like his old hair before he lost it.

He needs to go to comedy school if he think that was funny. He looked a right dick.

Today, Monday 4th April, Rachel was once again wearing a ridiculous creation. The dress fabric looked so stiff she could easily have been used as one of those 'pretty lady' covers for spare toilet rolls in the loo!

I wonder if she ever actually watches any of the programme playback. I can't believe she'd actually think .. 'Mmmm, I looked particularly gorgeous today in that dress'!

I caught a tiny bit of Room 101 the other night (don't know if it was current or an old one). Rachel was one of the guests and she was wearing a really lovely blue dress, nothing of the sort she usually sports on Countdown.

Does she have a wardrobe mistress? Are her clothes provided for her and is she obliged to wear whatever she's given? Does she have any say at all in how she looks on this programme?

Apart from that, I'm more and more convinced that the letter 'E' is becoming a rare commodity on Countdown. I reckon the producers have removed a load of them to make things more 'interesting'!

I thought she looked very attractive today in a very nice dress. To be honest though I wouldn't dream of criticising a young woman's dress sense anyway as fashions change and I know I don't understand them.

Rachel usually looks fantastic in an array of great dresses, it's very noticeable when she's wearing a clanger. It wasn't even unflattering, just not a nice colour or print.

I didn't like her dress today. To be honest I thought it looked like the sort of outfit a 7 year old girl might wear to a birthday party. I find her dress sense 'interesting' at times. Sometimes I think she looks totally fabulous and other times, well, maybe not so much so.

I read somewhere not long ago that a lot of what she wears are designer one offs which get sent to her and aren't intended for retail sale outlets. I think she said she wears them once and then either sends them back or actually buys them from wherever they were sent. At other times I think she does also wear outfits from chain stores etc.

I'm sure she must have some 'assistance' in the wardrobe department.

The other day there were four Es in a single round!

Recently the tiles looked different to me and I guessed they were a new set - it's possible that they've tweaked the distribution. I can't say I've noticed any dramatic change, though; it could just be that they've got someone new shuffling the decks, or maybe fewer vowels are being chosen overall.

It's just what you see. I never got the "easy" method Rachel showed but got it by another method ((100+75+7+2+3)x4).

On Friday Susie said fainter wasn't in the dictionary so fainters wasn't allowed but on last Monday's show they all had fainter.

I presume you can have fainter as in 'more faint', e.g.. an image becoming fainter. As opposed to someone who faints being called a fainter.

But they don't give a context when they submit a word, they just say the word...

The Friday contestant tried the invalid fainters, though. If he'd stuck with the singular it would, of course, have been accepted without comment, regardless of the perceived definition.

Ah, OK. Didn't read the original post properly.

Thanks, I see now regarding fainters. I am very surprised it's not in the dictionary though considering some of the other unusual words they have because I have heard it on tv in medical situations as in "Oh no, we have a fainter here"! Embarrassingly I have been one of those when having blood taken.

I fainted the first time I had blood taken. It was just a shock to have the needle going in. I still don't like it, but I know what to expect now, and I haven't fainted since.
