Contains a spoiler, so don't look if you still have to watch the programme and play the game.

Had to chortle today when Jeff checked with Dictionary Corner, and asked
Spoiler
'Anything more than tongues?', and Tim replied 'Not on a first date'.

”

Agreed - very funny, Tim Vine's response was instantaneous

Matt Le Tiss on Countdown!

What is this Soccer Saturday?

Who is next Charlie Nic? Big Al Mc?

Childish yes, but I had a quick chuckle at "ARSED"

Despite carefully looking, I can see no VPL today.

I reckon she's gone 'commando'.

Well, I've refused to watch it since Des and Carole departed They practically made the show.. they owned the screen.. they were the hallmark!

You're kidding right? Dreary O'Connor was the worst presenter they've had on there and who was Carole? If you're such a fan and not a troll I'm surprised you don't know it is Carol.

By heck you are easily pleased

Dreary Des and "I love myself so much" Carole ruined the programme.
It went downhill when RW dies and Carole almost took over.

It has certainly improved under Jeff and Rachel, so try watching again

Yeah, it's much better now!
Carol was getting too big for her boots and des was dull dull dull!

And it's even more better this week with the delicious Donal in Dictionary Corner.

Why do have an issue with Anton?!?

No it's just that last time he was on he seemed to irritate some people.

I like him, it's Brandreth I can't stomach!

I got quite excited when I learnt he was going to be the guest. Then I realised I was actually thinking of the philosopher Alain de Botton and I'd got the two confused.

Today was the first time I've seen du Beke. He really is quite annoying. "Oh we've got 3 nines over here! Aren't I great?" said without even the merest trace of irony. I've got a four for you over here, Anton: tool.

I actually wanted Des O’Connor to present the show, before he was even cast. I thought he’d be a good choice. But I’m sorry to say I was wrong. I like Des but he wasn’t right for Countdown.

Stelling is “da man”!

I think the set looks much better now they’ve toned down the moving lights in the background. Although the lighting on the people is notably more yellow now they’re in Manchester and I’m not sure how much I like it. Although I suppose it was a bit too blue before. It’s probably an improvement; just seems unusual in comparison.

I think it's terrible that Countdown isn't on for a few weeks, they don't need a holiday as they film so many shows in a day!

Meanwhile the mind numbingly boring "Deal or no deal" continues to be shown and even has Saturday editions.

It's back. And she's wearing her sexiest dress to mark the occasion.

Think there was only one 't' in the selection, bling (Nice user name btw).

Welcome back Rachel. That dress reminds me what I've been missing...

'Strongest' could never be a word on Countdown at any rate (unless a Conundrum), as contestants must select a minimum of 3 vowels.

Good to have something to watch from the wreckage of daytime TV when I get home. Missed having Countdown on though I also found Pointless strangely addictive today as well.
