He certainly is. Wait till you get to Thursday's, when Geoff opens with som of his own.

Did anyone spot the mistake that the continuity announcer referred to before today's show ?
I didn't and the announcer didn't explain after the show either.

I think, and only I think, but in one of the rounds the woman asked for a third one (referring to consenant) and Rachel pulled out a vowel instead, next letter the lady asked for was a consonant and she got it, so I guess it was no big mistake.

Geez glad Tim Vines gone. Couldnt stand any more of his so called 'jokes' . He must be the worst comic on the circuit. Even he seems embarrassed telling them!! Rubbing off on Jeff too. He tries to a funny like Richard Whiteley but it doesnt work somehow. His banter between himself and Rachel seems forced and they often talk over each other so the joke is lost. Cant they take a summer break and give us a rest. Put something else on, but not Come dine with me

I still like Countdown mainly for the sake of the game itself. It has definitely lost something since Jeff and Rachel took over. The guests don't seem as good generally either.
I don't know what to make of young Mr Vine. I can't make my mind up whether I like him or not. There are a lot worse than him I suppose.

I love Tim's sly looks to camera when the clock is going. He is a great guest.

And the show is as good as it's ever been. Better than anytime since Richard's passing, anyway.

I liked the quote at the end, " You wouldn't want every comedian to be like Tim Vine, but I'm glad one is."

If anyone has seen Tim Vine live or on DVD then he has a brilliant act, I think on Countdown he hasn't been at his best, but considering whats thrown at him then he does well to come up with something quite quick.

Well, that'll send YouTube into meltdown... Comedy gold

Reminds me of Fry and Laurie's "Open University outtake".

I've just checked him out on Youtube. The "Live At The Apollo" segment is great. l

If you don't want to watch it then take a summer break from it but allow the rest of us to continue enjoying it.

I can't stand "Deal or no deal" but since it seems there are enough simpletons out there that like it then I don't call for it to go - I just don't watch it.

Nope, you just insult people that happen to enjoy that programme.

She was quite good last time she was on the show, I'm going to a recording tomorrow morning and it's Alastair Stewart in DC, so I'm looking forward to that, apparently Dave Spikey is recoring on Wednesday, then they're not filming for Summer now, so I guess they're recording far ahead.

And TENNETEBA, I'd laugh if that did appear on Countdown.

While I do not agee with mal2pool that Countdown is boring and I do agree with you that if you dont like it dont watch it, I take exception to being called a "simpleton" just because i watch DOND.
I watch, and enjoy, both programmes and I would never insult anyone who watches programmes I dont like.
Each to his own without insults

Yes you're correct I shouldn't call people simpletons because of their viewing choice so I apologise unreservedly.

The show itself has no redeeming features so I have no qualms about criticising that, it is repetitive, requires zero skill and worst of all is completely contrived. The most annoying part is when somebody finishes early and they then run through the rest of the show uncovering boxes as if it matters (rather than filling time), almost as bad is the way the other contestants apologise if their box is bad as if it's anything to do with them what's in there. (I only managed a couple of episodes so it may have changed since then though the brief glimpses I had don't suggest this - I can't believe it is still going).

By contrast Countdown is a real test of skill and one that you can play at home.

Just a mention for Rachel's dress today, you're all getting too involved in the silly letters and numbers game.

The real star, and the real reason for watching, is Rachel's gravity defying bottom.

How does it stay SOoooo semi-circularly round and peach-like ?

As she said on the show this afternoon, she works out three times a day during the week... (the numbers games, haha!)

And just how low did that zipper go today? all the way down her bum!

Yet again, they must have found a creative location for her mic pack

If it will help, I'm happy to volunteer to do a thorough body search to put your mind at rest.

I'm sure the men were not happy at all today with Rachel's choice of outfit. ”

Likewise, great dress helped

Thanks for your apology which I accept
I agree with most of your comments here and of course Coundown requires more skill.I watch it and play along at home.
I watch DOND to see how people react to the situations as each box is opened. It can be very drawn out too but that depends a lot on how the contestants play,
