Haha... one of the guys went for wa*ker (missing n) just now (the other had awaken) ... although they bleeped out his word, you could lip-read it easily and they were all laughing!

Also Rachel got the numbers game that neither contestant could get!

You could tell by the look on Rachel's face when that last letter was an N, if anything I thought the lad who had 0 would have gone for it, but indeed it was the other buy, and it was badly bleeped.

The dictionary has 'wan*er' in it and one of the meanings is 'a contemptible person; jerk' so I guess it is allowed!

I wonder if they would allow the f or c word as they are probably also in the dictionary

they disallowed 'unstaged' the other day, which seems like an everyday word to me!

Rachel's wearing a pretty white dress today with laces tied down the back like wedding dresses have!

It's the same dress she was wearing just a couple of weeks ago...she does look good in it though

Her legs looked particularly fine today, I thought.

It's not a matter of whether it's an everyday word but whether it's in their dictionary. (This use to be the Oxford Dictionary of English but I believe they've now changed that).

As an example "pooter" is not in there despite it being a word which is used much more often that many that are allowed. There is a definite bias towards literary terms.

Another funny is that "worm cast" is 2 words despite being one word in most dictionaries and is in very common usage.

It is the OED, but a new edition of it. They seem to change the dictionary every 2 or 3 years.

It's not the OED. That's a multi-volume historical dictionary which in its current hard-copy edition (OED2) runs to 20 volumes. It would take Susie ages to look anything up in it. bobcar's right, they use the Oxford Dictionary of English (ODE) which is a single volume dictionary of current English. They've just started using the 3rd Edition which was published last year.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

On yesterday’s episode, Rachel showed off her engagement ring!

Oh well. I guess it had to happen sooner or later, and I’m happy for her. Just disappointing on a personal level as I have a policy of not “checking out” married/engaged women. The show will never be the same again for me. I might not tune in as often.

How did neither of them not get the second numbers game today?

75 9 8 3 7 5 to make 763

If anyone else is stuck

Spoiler
3 + 7 = 10 x 75 = 750 + 8 + 5

Yesterday's yellow and white outfit looked lovely.

Wish somebody had told the 'George Formby lookalike' that it is not customary to wear a hat indoors!.
I would have preferred the young lady contestant to win. We have so few ladies competing in Countdown these days.

Rachel's engagement appears to have borught about a cooling off in the clothing department. She's reverted back to pre 21/9/09 levels of sexiness.
