He did say in his DS interview that his first few shows were very haphazard but then he settled in and it came to him more naturally. I think by this time next week he'll be growing on a lot of viewers.

Magic trick was clever.

He was very OTT to begin with and seems a little awkward, but given it's his first show, that's to be expected.

I'm sure he'll grow into the role a lot more after the first week.

First impressions - he'll do for me. In fact, I think he's perfect for it.

He seems a lot better than Stelling. Stelling had that weird pasted on smile.

Did they show his audition tape by accident? Shocking stuff.........

His voice becomes annoying after a while, hope he settles in eventually.
Rachel lovely as ever and no v.n.l.

On the upside though, Rachel's arse looking as fantastic as ever!

And that Slim Pickens 'joke'. Couldn't work out if it was a joke or not!

It's called the brainwave deck. It's easy to do. I've got one. I was frantically looking for it to show my wife after seeing Paul Zenon do it. I noticed that unlike the sales video above, Paul didn't show the back of the card to be a different colour.

As far as the host Nick goes, yes he did appear a little uncomfortable but I have high hopes that once he settles in, he will be a good 'un. Particularly I think because he said that he felt the first few shows were a bit haphazard.

I thought Nick was great. An ideal host for the show.

FGS give him a chance. At least he doesn't keep sucking air through his teeth like Stelling.

I don't know about a son called "Fat" but Slim Pickens had a brother called "Easy".

Spooky that I also chose 7 of spades in the card trick!

I chose 7 of Clubs

I didn't like Jeff Stelling but think that Nick will be good when he becomes a bit more relaxed.

I'll miss Jeff, and my 86 year old mother in law loved him, in spite of his awful gags and having no clue who he was! However, once he relaxes, there's no reason why Nick's dry wit won't suit the show equally well. Sure a very different presenting style, but not a bad first show.

PS How DID Paul do that trick?

good new title sequence

great mention of the late Richard Whitely at the start

great arse Rachel has

BAD bad bad presenter it may be his first show but omg he is dull  and from a bunch of comments he clearly has not been brought up to speed on what the is about or the last few episodes leading up to this :yawn::yawn:

That was the main thing I noticed, "well done" or "very good" after the letter selections, after the clock, after the contestants had given their words and at other points too.

It's probably nerves and he'll become more relaxed in future episodes.

He's not such a natural as Jeff who settled down straight away but then Jeff was already an experienced TV presenter when he took over.

I think Nick may settle down, I don't think he'll reach the standards Jeff set but at least he's 1000 times better than Des O'Connor.

He's a bit stilted for his first show but I'm sure he'll settle in. I liked Jeff though - thought he was good for Countdown.

Considering its the first presenting job he's ever done he did a dam good job.

He will I liked him as well. Next week he will be into the swing off things. He said himself that the first few shows were haphazard so he will get better.

I'm sure he will get better. I don't think he'll ever get as good at it as Jeff was but he is a likeable character and that is the main thing.
