This thread needs a new name.

I now have simply no idea what you are talking about and object to your aggressive style of debate when I have already apologised to you for misunderstanding your earlier point. End of discussion with you as far as I'm concerned.

I can't say I've ever noticed the new guy, what's his name? I don't think the viewers are watching him.

I thought my usage of a smilie would signify my non-agressiveness (the being the embarassed smilie - embarassed as to the misunderstanding arising from not enough info being given by me, and that that's just something that happens from time to time, and it's a funny old world , and all that.

It's interesting you say that because i do think that channel 4has allowed shows to get ruined beyond repair when they want rid of it. In the end i think they really wanted to get rid of Brookside, they did everything possible to get it axed.

I'm not familiar with all this stuff. Apologies if I misread the spirit of your message.

Made me laugh when Nick scowled at some tough letters and hit the button. One of his classic faces

Doesn't she look fantastic? Her body is a work of art.

First time I have caught it since Nick took over. It is strange seeing him there but I think I quite like him.

Wondered if there was a thread on the latest show

It reminds me of when Mr Whiteley first started . Nick presents simply, uncluttered, with a quirky edge, just like Richard .

Not trying too hard is a success it seems. I think you have to be that way, don't think it can be learnt .

Think Nick needs new Duracells, the show is so slow & stilted now & totally devoid of humour. Makes you really appreciate someone like Jeff Stelling who was polished & a natural in front of the camera. Channel 4 bosses should be looking for Nick's replacement now!

I'm sure Rachel has got something nice that I could slip into.

I've just watched the start of today's programme on +1, just to make sure what Nick said. Unbelievable!

He's getting into his stride, now, isn't he? Starting to feel quite natural in the role. He was a tad clunky for the first few shows, but it's not felt "off" for a second, today. Good ol' Nick.

Was anything said about the fact that Jack claimed a seven for 'invaders' and got it despite there being no R in the selection?

"Invaders" has got 8 letters, so perhaps he said "invades" for a seven?

That's true - we had it on subtitles at the time, and it was invaders that came up - I didn't bother to count up! But it sounded like he said invaders. I'll look on catch up - and remember not to trust subtitles!

The Letters were V G D N E I A D G

And according to the subtitles on 4ON he declares a 7 but answers "invaders" so no R or S.

edit: listened to it too and he definitely says invaders.

another edit: countdowns twitter is saying he declared "invaded" and it is the way he pronounced the word that caused the confusion.

Sometimes if the TV is on in the pub they usually have the subtitles on and it's quite hilarious reading them sometimes because of the mistakes!
