I don't recall that at all. Jeff and Rachel and likewise Jeff and Suzie had an amazing rapport which was great to watch.

This past week of Countdown has been the most uncomfortable I can ever remember. Even including the dreadful Lynam era.

I don't have a problem with Nick hosting countdown and I think people will come to like him more over time. The only minor quibble I have is that I don't think he gets how big a deal a 9 letter word is.

Yes I can't understand why people who have no interest in a show make the effort to come on here and tell us it should be cancelled?

I think it was Once Yearly, Nearly!

My view - Nick is dreadful. He has absolutely nothing going for him. No charisma, no talent, just awful.

They should give the MC job to Rachel and let her do both jobs

And how exactly would that format work please?

If it involves shorter, tighter dresses then it sounds like a good idea!

I do get puzzled by some little things he says. Like when he says 'stand back' after the letters have been chosen and he's about the start the clock (stand by I can sort of understand, but not stand back), and maybe this is just me, but when he ends with 'good afternoon' I just find it..........a bit strange, it's more what you'd expect to hear at the start, not the end. Very much undecided on him so far.

The answer to the conundrum today was "Duplicate". I would however - yes I would! - have said "Placitude", which would have been incorrect as it isn't a word in the Concise Oxford Dictionary which Countdown use. It does sound as if it should be a word though.

Please stop distracting us from Rachel.

Oh dear, this is the first time I've seen Nick on Countdown and sadly, I have to say he seems hopelessly out of his depth and totally inadequate, as nice as he undoubtedly is. Doesn't do it for me, I'm afraid, as a fan of the show since the glorious Whiteley days.

Who cares? Look at Rachel! Just look at her! She's glorious.

Is that the only reason you watch? What about Suzie?

I would go with Suzie, but I'd be thinking of Rachel.

I've watched a couple....

And Lister and the Cat have it all wrong. Betty was way hotter than Wilma in the cartoons. Something they got wrong in the films.

He's an acquired taste alright. Was baffled when I heard he was to do this, would have thought he would have shunned more limelight btu obviously quite fond of it.

Rachel seems to get more attractive everyday. Has there been any scientific experiments done to explain this seemingly impossible phenomenon?
