Been watching a bit since Nick started. I'm liking his funny little off-the-cuff remarks. It's quite refreshing to have someone who doesn't sound as if he's totally scripted by someone else. I just hope he doesn't fall into the trap of making dirty-old-man banter with Rachel, the way the previous bloke did, but Nick seems to be a bit too intelligent to do that.

I think Nick is doing fine. He is putting his own mark on the show and I like it.
It would be good if he started flirting with Rachel, I get the feeling that there is chemistry between them and they should build on that.

Nick ...fish out of water.

its quite cold and cringy when you wait to hear what he says next and has a strange "attitude" almost piss taking condescending to Suzy.

Like Dudgeon on MM, Nick is just an outsider who hasn't gelled or is even on the same wavelength as the rest.

Nick has settled in, he won't hit the heights Jeff did but he's funny now and again. Doesn't handle contestant intros too well though and "I turn to you" will always remind me of Mel C.

The game is the (Northern) star.

I agree. I've been watching to see how Nick got on and I'm happy enough with him now that he's settled in but I'm back to fast-forwarding through most of the chatter now as there's simply too much of it (as there always has been in my view) and I prefer to concentrate on the game.

Another wonderful display from Rachel today.

Speaking of Rachel, voting opens today this year's FHM 100 Sexiest Women. She has never placed to my knowledge, which is quite frankly ridiculous.

Vote here:

http://www.fhm.com/girls/100-sexiest-women

Multiple voting is allowed as far as I can tell.
I came across these:

Another one:

She looks great

Tried Countdown again today, hoping that Nick would be better. Sadly, he's absolutely AWFUL.

He even has to ask a contestant how many times she's won now - "3" was the answer! To me, he'd be far better on "question time" as just is not suited to Countdown.

Maybe they should have guest presenters, like Have I got News For You till they find someone up to the standard of Richard (RIP) or Jeff

just voted for the 3rd time, just need to do that a few 100,000 times more and she'll be guaranteed top spot = though maybe the Countdown Bosses had her sign some kinda decency contract which would prevent her from appearing in FHM... damn them

I like the gold dress but the 'rock chick' look doesn't suit her..a bit too 'Vorderman' for my liking

The "media" intro today was very strange. Nick saying he was "here to stay" isn't really his decision!
And Rachel calling herself a "tv presenter". Not sure I'd call her a presenter really...
I find Kate Humble quite dull, don't think I'd have her back. All she talks about is TV shows she's done/doing.

Dull ? She comes across as very bubbly

And, being a tv presenter, what else would you expect her to talk about - I'm confused.

Exactly. She's on because she's a TV presenter. Big deal. There are hundreds of them, mostly interchangeable. They should pick guests from more interesting professions

I think her hair should be longer with the "rock chick" look.

Sounds like she's got her eye on a bigger diamond than the one in the engagement ring

I had to laugh at Nick saying he and his partner hardly ever meet and that they should marry when they've sorted the tax out

Maybe it's because they are both named "Chris" today.

Yes, Nick did explain at the start of the show that he would be calling the first Chris "champ".
