Phillips DVP3980/05 vs DVP5990
Was looking for the dvp3980/05, couldn`t find one so set Argos to let me know by E mail when available. Got an E mail this morning telling me that one was in local, reserved and shot down to collect. Then noticed it was a Phillips DVP5990
![]() Anyway, the staff checked around and this is the unit that now fills the same catelogue number as the 3980. Had a quick look in the box and the spec inc 1080p seemed the same so brought it home and tried it out. Superb!!! on my Panasonic 37" plasma. Can`t remember if the 3980 had a USB slot but this one does have and read some images on a Dongle right away. Maybe Phillips has brought this unit out now as a replacement, not sure but even this unit is in scarce supply. for £49.99 I`m more than pleased. Anyone know the story behind the new model number?? 3980 is no longer listed as current, so my best guess would be that the 5990 is the replacement.
