I have a 3 year old Panasonic THD-42PWD that last night suddenly flashed and went off.

The standby red flight was flashing (rather than static like it normally is when its on standby) and I couldnt get it to switch on again with the remote.

When I switched it on at the TV the screen came up but very faded (as if the contrast had been raised to its highest setting). There was also a high pitched whining.

If I switched it off again at the TV and left it off for about 10 minutes and then switched it on again I am back to normal.

Does anyone know what the problem is? I cant believe its the screen itself.....maybe the power supply or input board?

Any help much appreciated as its just done it again.
