Hi all,

My brother and I recently bought 21.6" UMC 1080p TVs from Tescos, and so far it's faultless in performance (I have one set up via HDMI to my PS3 and it's great).

The only thing is, he can't get any sound when connecting his Xbox 360 via component, because it doesn't have the right slots. There are slots for the three video input cables (R/G/B), but no slots for the two audio cables (red and white), just a scart slot. So when connecting via component, he has video, but no sound.

It also has an S-video input, YPbPr Audio (component audio) and PC audio. Basically, I think he needs to buy a new Xbox 360 component cable which has a single component audio cable, rather than the red and white ones on the default one. But I'm not sure exactly what this cable looks like. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

There's a picture of the input slots on the TV here:

The booklet, from the 3 component slots onwards say the slots are PC AUDIO // YPbPr/S-VIDEO AUDIO // RF.

Thanks in advance.

The one next to the RF socket is where it wants component audio in.

Can't make out what it is in your picture though?

If it's 3.5mm, all you need is something like this. Connect the two phono audio leads from the 360 to that, and plug that into the socket on the TV.

Or it could be an optical connection? In which case you'd need extra/different leads for the 360 .....

If it's meant to be used for s-video as well though, I'd guess 3.5mm ....

Aha, I think that might just be it.

The TV actually came with a cable that had the stereo audio outputs on one end (red and white), and then on the other had a black output that fits into my iPod, so it's 3.5mm.

So that's it! Thank you so much, I've been scouring the internet for an answer for hours. I'm a regular poster here, but I like to look for things myself before asking the all-knowing on this forum

Any idea if they are readily available at a shop rather than online?
