headphone socket on tv ...how to make it work
hello..just bought our sony tv second hand crt model kv-s2952u..the previous chap never used the headphone socket so we assumed it was ok..but when we put the jack in for the headphones it doesnt cut off the tv audio ,,,does this mean the socket is faulty..is there any way to use our headphones as cant watch tv without it due to baby sleeping
please answer..any replies or suggestions welcome as we wont get to watch any tv after the baby sleeps as she is in the same room as us.. thanks in advance |

Have you looked in the sound menu for options...I think that model has a variable headphone level control independent of the spkr volume...i.e. I think you may be able to mute or turn down the spkr level without altering the headphone output...this will only be possible if you have the correct remote for the set with access to the menu...or going from memory I think if I remember correctly the spkrs connections at the rear on this model are two DIN plugs which you can pull out.

hi john...i think you may have cracked it..my husband has thrown a major tantrum and thrown the tv remote and rolled over to sleep...but when he had the fit i was reading on my laptop and although my old set just cut out once the headfone jack went in..i think the sony has 2 volumes..one for tv and one for headfones..i saw this when i was scrolling the tv remote menu...and saw heaphone volume optio...so yes..we are on the same wavelngth..lets hope it works...will try it out tomorrow once he has gone to work..
thanks for your input...will keep you posted...many thanks
