Humax HD Freview+ and HD Freesat+ HDR (Fviewsat+) when?

Well with Humax as one of the companies planning to do Freview HD tests in London - how far away are we from the ultimate HDR with HD for both Freview and Freesat

Fviewsat+ sounds like a good name, I’ll be happy to take a prototype

as part payment for coming up with this great brand name

And the non HDR version could be called Fviewsat

Any comments on the development side Bob_Cat?

Well as the BBC have said there will be no HD content on Freeview until the DSO (due to space limitation) then I cant see any Freeview HD test transmissions in London until 2012 at least, as that is when analogue is switched off in London. Personally I think HD will grow faster on Freesat then on Freeview.

HD on Freeview is due to start this year in the Granada region, and while it shouldn't happen in London until 2012 they are apparently pushing HD in London forward - as usual, special treatment for London.

Fviewsat is a nice idea but exactly how many wires are involved here....two coax in, one scart/hdmi out (another lead out to the sound system), one aerial in one scart/hdmi out (and another connection out for sound, plus the five or so wires for the sound system. Plus the dvd player n the games console having all their wires back there! So can we make this thing wireless please lol

The simple answer is, for whatever your setup (assuming DSat to start with), one more!

Quite likely, not even that. Just means the aerial plugs into the STB rather than the TV.

No thank you - no more wireless gadgets to clog up the RF frequencies. Interference between WiFi devices is already becoming quite a problem in apartment blocks without without yet more devices to clog it up and slow down all WiFi devices.
