This week it's been made available (without invite) in the UK. I've tried it out. It offers instant access. You do a search, the song appears, you click it and it's online, no streaming time, no waiting. You can't save the songs to your PC. Sound quality is 160 kbps which is close to CD quality but not quite as good as 190 - 320 kbps.
If you do a Google search of Spotify, you'll be able to download the application. I'd rate it 9 out of 10 for ease of use, speed and range of songs. It's 100 percent legal so you can listen without worrying about copyright infringement.
