'They say everyone has their 15 minutes of fame but Big Brother contestant Lee Davey has decided his time is up. Only last year the antics of the Leicester fitness instructor were being beamed into millions of living rooms across the country on a nightly basis.

When he left the house, he continued to hit the headlines after ditching his girlfriend and falling for the charms of his fellow housemate Sophie. Their wedding just three months ago was even the subject of a documentary on Sky One and made a picture spread in a celebrity magazine.

Now Lee and Sophie have left the fame game behind and moved to Leicester.

Lee had been sleeping on his brother's sofa but for the time being they are staying in a friend's flat while they prepare to move into a home of their own next month.

Lee, 23, is now a social worker and Sophie, 26, will be going into the same profession. Lee said: "There are a lot of benefits to coming back to Leicester, We can get on the property ladder, there are family and friends here and I have got my new career. It was something I'd been interested in and I fancied a change."

Sophie, from Marlow in Buckinghamshire, said: "I like it here. The people are always really friendly. The fame thing doesn't bother me either way, but if people weren't interested I wouldn't bother auditioning."

Lee said: "I don't understand what the fascination is with fame. It's weird. You go on TV and you are a superstar. It has changed my life. I don't go out clubbing anymore. If I go out I wear a hat and pull it down. But I chose to go on the show so I can't really complain about that. Good things came out of it too, though. I met my wife and I've made some money out of it.

"The fame thing just didn't interest me, I think I went to one premiere. Mind you, I'm not stupid. If a magazine offered some money for a photoshoot of me and Sophie I wouldn't say no." .....'

Oh the poor things. All that hand-shaking and cutting ribbons and unveiling plaques, they must be run off their feet. I'm sure the public will eventually get over their early retirement from "public life" heart-rending though it may be.



Sophie, do us a favour - pull that hat RIGHT down over your face the next time you're out and put a bag over Lee's head whilst your at it.

I quite like Sophie, and I was nice for the guys to have a good looking girl in BB3, even if she did go in late. God knows what she sees in Lee though.

Jade and Adele are reasonably good looking.

Rightly or wrongly, it was Kate and Sophie who had "eye candy" status in that house.

Adele is bisexual, was quite androgynous-looking and therefore was possibly not conventional pin-up material (not that that is a bad thing at all).

While Jade *is* prettier than most make out, she ruins it every time she opens her mouth.

Good on Sophie and Lee for putting their time on BB to rest and moving on with their lives. I hope everything works out for them.

It's all sour grapes from Sophie and especially Lee. I guess that he is saying that if anyone is willing to pay him for a public appearance, then he is happy to make himself available. But, given that no one is interested, he is happy to lead a private life.

It seems to me that they're just keeping their options open.

sounds like they made quite a bit of money out of the photo-shoots. I suppose their next "hello" shoot will be the baby

Sophie looks so sensible in the photo Pity she was a bit of an insecure nonsense-talker on the show . I heard them on the James Whale show last year and they were ok on that.

Cameron did a similar thing to Lisa and Nush that Tim did to Sophie except Cameron was more subtle and a bit more of a diplomatic bully.
