Can anyone who has made the change from a DS810XE to the Humax comment on any differences in the picture quality in HD and SD modes, and/or audio quality?

Just got the HDR yesterday! It can't be worse than my poxy Pace. Have not tried it at home yet as I'm still in UK, but on a mate's Sony it sems quite good at 1080i. Euronews for example is less pixcellated. However LUXE TV HD sound was out of sync, but BBC HD was OK. Early days. Will hopefully be able to update further at the week-end.

LOL every time you mention your beloved Pace i can picture that on the front GC, i'm beginning to think that's the brand name it has.

An expression about a cap fitting and (the Pace) wearing it springs to mind!

I nearly bought one a while back too. It would have been horrific if i couldn't view the ITV HD Unavailable caption.

Well you missed a treat last night because it wasn't there! just a blank screen. Maybe there will be a football style aplology for not showing the Unavailable Caption!

For example "Upstairs Downstairs" on ITV3 needed the 561i to get the best.[*]The artefact of an halo around bright objects eg a sunset has totally gone with the Humax[*]Radio through an external amp has excellent stereo separation and the output is higher needing less volume on the amp[*]The once a day crash is no more[*]Have not used DiSEqC yet so cannot report on Astra 1 stuff[/LIST]
So far I would be happy to advise anyone to switch to the Humax HDR as soon as they can afford it / get approval from SHMBO
