Not that I would expect Humax to take any notice of this but just for our own interest:

What are the top five things you'd like added/fixed (i.e. your personal choice rather than those you think should be fixed for the general good).

No need to be 'realistic'.

Starting:

1) Set timers via LAN
2) Cure unpausing when looking at guide
3) Cure the cluster**** of subtitle switching bugs
4) Spoof delete if recording (assuming it can't be properly fixed).
5) Generally make the UI less clunky

There's already a list in the Feature Requests thread
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...1#post30598721

What you do is copy the list and increment the items that matches your request and add the items that do not, to the list... [Mods - can you merge?!]

Interesting in its own right but it doesn't show the same thing as it gives no idea of the particular priority that each poster places on the items they are interested in.

[Mods - can you leave them seperate, please?]

I'm not that bothered about most of the update requests (although wouldn't say no) but I'm really hacked off about it.....

1) Not recording from the buffer.
2)Favourite lists being a waste of time as they can't be viewed in the EPG.

That would be my top 2 fixes but apart from that I think it's done well. Only other thing that bugs me is it missing start or end of programmes when on auto mode but I know thats not Humax fault. I'm now having to check that it's actually caught the end of a movie before I watch it in case it's missing!

Yeah also many posters might not add anything where the request is already listed. So just because something got (3) mentions in the requests before the list was formed as a consolidated list (at my suggestion just to take any blame here), doesn't mean its a more popular request that something that only got (1) request. All it means is that befoer the list was consolidated, 3 people mentioned it seperately probably not realising someone had mentioned it before.

As for update requests, I can't even remember what I put but off the top, my top 5 from memory:

1. Non Freesat Mode EPG to make it a fully functional box

2. Improved SD upscaling

3. Ability to trim recordings

4. Previous / Next Page Function for when your flipping between channels

5. Destination control for recordings so when you've created folders you can choose which one the recording goes to

Would have added this to Feature Requests but that list seems to be getting out of hand. Most demands are for esoteric features that are completely irrelevant to the target consumer group for this box. Anyone requiring these should buy a more sophisticated receiver.
I would like though to add chapters instead of bookmarks together with the ability to delete existing chapters. This would make recordings easier to navigate.

I have discovered one serious bug I have not seen mentioned. At the end of January BBCi transmitted a stream with Elbow performing live at Abbey Road. It was even promoted on BBC1 but I could not get on the Humax, though I did watch it on an HDCI2000. All the red button could access were the sports streams. (It is not possible to tune in the BBCi streams in the non freesat mode). Comments anyone?

You might find that this was a BBCi "bug" rather than a HDR one. It may be that the MHEG application that would have given you Elbow wasn't available on freesat. Would be nice if the HDR allowed BBCi streams to be tuned in non-freesat mode, though.

Don't understand what you mean here?

By trimming recordings, do you mean editing.....as in cutting out the Ad breaks etc?

1 - sort out the failed recordings
2 - sort out not being able to delete while recording
3 - ability to turn folders off or automatically delete empty folders
4 - hide old schedules that dont have a future program
5 - sort out chase play taking you to live viewing once the program has ended.

honourable mention to being able to edit recordings.

You are probably right. The system is very similar to Freeview which I prefer to the Sky one, but Freeview is limited by the available channel space and is not relevant to satellite. The front menu page shows 8 streams and access is by entering the stream number, but no way could I see or get the stream with Elbow on it. Worryingly the system is listed as Sports Multiscreen. Surely the music streams such as Electric Proms and Glastonbury will be available. They are also used for the Chelsea Flower Show etc.
The BBC is FTA with no obligation to Sky (apart from their contributions to the Sky EPG) and it is odd/worrying that all the streams broadcast by satellite cannot be received by the Humax. Maybe I'm missing something but there is apparently a bug somwhere that needs a fix.

Not so much a bug (which is why I put it in quotes), more likely to be an MHEG application that BBC have not implemented on freesat yet. Sky and Freeview have been around a lot longer, so they have it. Freesat has only been around about eight months. Expect to see freesat catch up with Freeview over the coming months (but it may be quite a few months, BBC aren't exactly fast at this sort of thing).

As for the streams not being available in non-freesat mode, that is probably due to them being streams rather than channels. I'm not sure what the difference is in detail, but it is known that some generic FTA receivers can tune them whereas others cannot. So, although it would probably be possible for Humax to make them tunable on the HDR, it is not exactly a bug that they are not. It's the sort of thing that should probably be treated as a "new feature request". However, as the need for it will be greatly diminished when BBC get things sorted, it's probably less important than many another issue.
