Thanks for the reminder I just put mine back in but notice that I could not select HD for Sunday's "Wild At Heart" on ITV maybe it will be ok before Sunday.
Had the same problem yesterday but all is well today.

Thanks to savvy for the heads-up on ITV HD. I would have missed the Billy Connolly programme without that, as I had set this up earlier in the week.

Bit of a sneaky issue isn't it, deleting a scheduled timer if channels are altered?

Cheers Geoff,

But I feel sorry for all those people that bought the HDR and don't belong to these forums, and all the help on here.

You can see them taking their boxes back to Argos/Comet etc., saying "It keeps missing recordings, I know I had it set, and it's completely gone now ........".

It's a great place to be, here .....

Rgds.

Just another gentle reminder to re-set your ITV HD Timers due to the re-scan today for the 3 new channels added.

Thanks a lot for the reminder, we retuned yesterday, and I wasn't aware of this.

I don't know whether this is normal, but I also lost all the information in the guide until I retuned.

My hdr did an auto channel scan yesterday afternoon when I woke it up. Reported no changes, it might be worth checking your ITV HD reservations as this may have happened unnoticed overnight on yout hdr

Morning Graham.. have you been editing your non-freesat channels at all yesterday or previously as this normally happens when I have on my box?

Just switched mine on, no scan prompt or auto scan, all ITV HD timers intact.

I wonder what caused yours?

I had the same Graham, yesterday a rescan with no new channels but the day before I had the same with 1 new channel added. I don’t no what the new channel was (maybe a shopping channel) but assumed it to be an April Fool.

The rescan of course knock out the ITV HD schedule.

I have not checked the HDR today if it's going to do the same again.

The first would have been the rescan for the new Teletext Channel on 986.

Why, when a new channel is added, does the machine need do do a full rescan? Couldn' the system have been built so that a channel could be "dropped in"?

It probably could have been. It probably wasn't. Only a guess, but I imagine the channel list has something like a version number that is incremented every time there is a change. The box remembers the "version number" it's using and, when it sees a change, the next time it is turned on it scans to find out what the change is and saves the result.

No idea, I'm afraid, but it appears to have caused a few people problems with failed recordings, in another thread.

I appear to have lost my scheduled recording for "Russell Brand Doing Life" on channel 4 Saturday night.

Not sure whether its related to the re-scan or whether its channel 4 messing around with the CRIDs (see other threads on this) however it looks as though the CRID is the same as when I set it.
