With the adding of BET HD and the changing of two heres a reminder to re-enter ITV HD schedules
The need to re-set the timers isn't a software defect that doesn't need fixing with an update. Am I correct here Gaseous?

It's been mentioned on DS that humax are aware of the issue and is one of the fixes in the s/w update whenever that will be.

Yet another fix that should have been rolled out by now. Channel changes are not exactly rare though, admittedly, ITV HD broadcasts have been...

I just confirmed something I suspected before, that the retune message doesn't come up the first time the HDR is switched on. Having not long switched on and noticed nothing I switched off the HDR then back on again, and the message appeared. Has anyone else experienced this?

yes I think the box needs to be switch on after the channel update so that it can compare before and after states. It's a known issue.

I've sort of said it elsewhere, but I'll say it here anyway - 8 months to fix an issue that impacts so much on an important part of the basic functionality of the unit is too long.

Especially as seeing from this forum it's been a known issue for at least 5 months.

Imho, there is no excuse for not rolling out an update, sooner, even if it only is to address this single issue. Recording HD channels and relying on series links are basic tools that we paid to have. The suggested iPlayer interface isn't.

It's a shame, but I would have to think twice about buying a Humax product in the future.

Could this be why 'Hoten Babylon' failed to fecord off BBc HD last night?

I would say no.

I have never had any problems with recording BBC HD after channel updates but ITV HD is another matter, you have to put the ITV HD schedules back in the HDR after updates of channels, hence this thread.

If you were on holiday, with the box in Standby, it wouldn't rescan until you brought it back out of Standby, so it would be OK.

Thanks for that Les.

I didn't know it had to be reset until I read this forum. Is there a way other than looking at the timers if it needs to be rescheduled?

Hi Graham,

Only from noticing it's missing from the Schedule, or from the EPG with the Clock symbol missing.

It's a bit of a pain, but you just get used to it, it becomes second nature. I'm sure it must be one of the things fixed in the next firmware release - we'll see.

Edit : Won't be a problem when ITV HD becomes a proper channel in its own right.

Rgds.

This update or re-scan caused my HDR to lock up After it did what it wanted BBC1 came back, but no response from remote or front panel. My post #51 still applies IMHO. Why was this "re-scan" necessary?

Had yet another '2 DELETED' tonight! Is this a repeat of the one from last night which locked my HDR up ( and was therfore unsuccessful?) or is someone extracting the urine? Two changes so close together is a bit thoughtless for those poor folk who have items marked for recording on ITV1 HD! I thought that the 9 XM that Les mentioned went for the chop a week or so ago.

Aha! Edit. My post crossed with David 500. Thanks for confirming my sanity

Has anyone else ever lost any other series links following a re-scan?

At some point since last night I have lost my BBLB series link on E4 - the only thing I have done is perform a re-scan this morning when I switched it on.

A non freesat scan deletes the whole of your schedule. A bug that went unfixed for almost a year.
