If all music was like this then the world would be a better place in some ways.

How is it tripe ? The lyrics are better and more meaningful that most genres.

No they aren't. It's just treacly and cloying.

yes - but there was a Ricki lake show the other day where some girl was convinced he was going to reappear - much like Elvis apparently...

I agree with the OP, I don't like hip hop but can appreciate the talented ones, even though I personally wouldn't buy it, 2 PAC was one of the greats I think.

he did. if i remember correctly he demanded of somebody that they respect his songs, even if they hated hip-hop, and the person rightly got narked, and opened fire

Justifiable homicide then.

Re-read the first post again about the song making the world a better place and then read the insults flying around.

Delicious irony.

That 2 pac sang a song with Elton John. Now I happen to know that Elton John is gay.

that wont do 2 pac's street cred much good, what with hip hop being against the gays?

Tell me who uses this type of language ? I've never heard anybody speak like that - it's just a stereotype of Hip Hop / Rap music.
well, off the top of my head, and maybe not exactly like i said, but from 1992 by da lench mob -

guerrillas in the mist *partial lyrics*

Come down and beware of the black fist
The guerillas straight mutherf**king killers is the mist
Take a shot Buck Buck but you can't forge
Never thought you'd see South Central ni**az in the forest

Swingin on a vine
Suckin on a piece of swine
Jiggaboo come up from behind
Hit him with a coconut
Stab him in the gut

Va-voom here comes a ni**a from the dark side
Talking bout a brand new apartheid
South Central straight ghetto native
Gotta show these devil muthaf**kers what I'm made of
Yes, never smoke the sess

i could go on, from stuff off that entire amerikkka's most wanted era, and the ice cube, nwa era. are you old enough to remember it even?

Real hiphop is great.. problem is nowadays it's been stolen by the A&R's and advertisers who repackaged it as gangsta crap and you have chavs bumping 50 cent and that crap.. and everyone thinks that's hiphop. It's hip-pop and it's killing the culture.

The mid-90's was the golden era.

Shame most regular people see the hippop crap and assume all hiphop is like that.

It's kinda like me listening to some Pete Doherty rubbish and thinking all rock music sucks.

never understood the pull of Tupac TBH

but I mainly have extensive (early) rap knowledge - I consider Tupac etc to be a bit after my time
