Totally agree, tonights routine was amazing! Listening to what Jason had said about marking him 5.5 was a bit petty IMO to be honest.
I think though it might help keep his credibility - that he is still being looked at critically and not just automatically favoured. I did miss the commet he made - was it that he didn't throw #maria high enough in one of the lifts?

I'm not sure it was harder than last week's, but I think it was a much better and more memorable routine.
I don't think it deserved straight 6s, but it was closer to deserving them.

I think there were better reasons to give it only 5.5. It was a bit slow and tentative at times, probably including the lift Jason mentioned.

They did the same at one point with Jessica.
This show's use of the cameras is appallingly poor.
I think this weeks routine was better than the last one. I didn't agree with the 30 last week, it was too big a leap from his previous marks and was obviously only given because of the "significance".

the r'n 'r jump where ray lifted maria in the air & he kicked in between her legs wern't high enough, i'd like to see him try that one on ice.
30, or no 30, Ray performances are the best quality of skating we've seen on DOI. Absolutely wipes the floor with anything Suzanne did last year.

As I've just said on the other thread on this subject, this really does show what Maria thinks of their partnership, so thank you very much for posting this!
It won't stop people saying they think Ray that is smug, arrogant, etc, but it does put paid to idea that he is a selfish skater (or words to that affect) and has no connection to Maria.

Just rewatched it on the ITV1 site as I knew when I read your post something was wrong as I remember admiring how well Jessica performed the required element.
They did cut to Pavel but it was after the element had been performed and Jessica was moving back to rejoin him.
Not that I am in anyway trying to play down bad camera work! If they have to close in on one of the pair only (though I can't see any reason why they would), in my opinion it should always be the celebrity partner not the pro. I often wonder if they focus on the pro during sequences that maybe the celeb is struggling with, though I know that's just daft paranoia
EDIT: Re: The OP, having watched Ray again (4 times today) I am going to change my mind since I originally posted. Despite a slight faff with his ending, I agree last night's routine deserved 6s across the board.
Jason Gardner is full of poop- to dock Ray .5 cos 'it wasn't perfect'! Then why give him a 6 the week before, (if not for ovbvious reasons) as that wasn't 'perfect' either?
IMO, as many have said already, I think this week's was more deserving of a 6 than last week's so shape up or ship out Mr Gardner!!
