It's a travesty, but I did see it coming sooner or later. Jessica is one of my faves, but she is perhaps the lowest profile celeb left now (apart from Donal, who imo has a great "improvement" story to go on atm.

Yes - I just started a thread on that thats sinking down the page. If Melinda was bottom Colleen has to be first and if Jessica was bottom Colleen has to be at least second. Jessica has to be in the bottom two to make the dance off.

There's also Donal who has to be in the top 3 if Jessica was bottom and in the top two if Jessica was second from bottom I think

Coleen is Fab and So is Jessica

Obviously if I had to choose between Jessica and Coleen it would be Jessica to save.

Coleen brings something to Dancing On Ice though

Jessica was one of the only ones I knew before the show. I remembered Roxanne but not by name, I remembered Todd but not by name, and I knew Ray.

She certainly does bring something - the Victor Meldrew, "I don't bl**dy believe it!" factor!

How is Jessica in the skate-off and Coleen is still there?

The Great British Public...the same people who kept Todd in probably.

I couldnt believe jessica was in the skate off and coleen got through. I would have had melinda and coleen in the skate off with coleen going out. Nothing against coleen she seems a nice lady with a good personality, as we know personality tends to get votes in these types of show. But i think coleen is the weakest skater and isnt entertaining on the ice, unlike donal who keeps pushing his boundaries and going for broke.

Yes but they gave up on Todd when he was up against worse opposition. They have just dumped 5 or 6 better people behind Colleen when she if anything is doing less and less and isn't even funny in odd weeks like Todd.

There's no reason for it other than a rubbish the show or a Loose women fan vote. Its not even a journey story as its going nowhere. Melinda was doing more daring things, Everyone else was better. Colleen is literally going around in the same old circle.

One thing to bear in mind that some people (such as me) who would vote for Jessica haven't been voting, because she didn't seem to be in any danger of going out.

I was even thinking earlier tonight that it might be good for her to be in the skate-off, to give her the experience of surviving one when she might face tougher ones later.

Next week will be more dangerous, and also a better test of how much support she has, since those of us who want to keep her in will have to start doing something about it.

I love Colleen on Loose Woman but that doesn't make me vote for her on this show. Ridiculous basis for voting, the woman can't stand up on her own.
Disgusted Jessica was in bottom two, surely I'm not the only one who was out and couldn't vote last night.

Totally agree with this.

Coleen appears to be getting through by being 'amusing'! Her skating/dancing on ice is dreadful. I presume she will be begging for votes again on 'Loose Women'.

One has to wonder why Colen is still there. She try's but just does not have it in her to give a good perforance.

It's probably down to the desire for many people to vote for a losser rrather then the best performer.

Tonight I would hve but Collen & Melinda or possibly Donnel
In the bottom two with Collen going.

I think everyone knows that, I think thats why people vote to save her. I don't think anybody votes for her because they think she's the best skater, but I've said this in another thread, the judges role is to vote on technical ability (hence why Ray is pretty much always first and Coleen always last), the public can choose to vote on whatever they wish, which is and has always been an element of the show (and of SCD, too.) And..lets remember..it is just a tv show.

Coleen, herself, said that her large family would vote enough to keep her in. Melinda wouldn't have won, but it must be upsetting for her to think she's put in a lot of work, improved every week but because she's not on Loose Women, or been in a family pop group she was not getting the votes.

Personally I think Jessica is a bit bland, but there's no way she deserved to be in the skate off. Hats off to Melinda for saying that as she was in the skate off with Jessica they may as well just give her the flowers as Jessica was bound to win. At least she knows her capabilities, which is more than Coleen and whilst people like Karen keep telling her - and the viewers - that she has a lovely personality and that they believe in her and she can skate well, she is going to think she is good and so will her "fans".

The problem is who is Jessica? I think she skates really well, but i dont know her, I know Coleen as she is on Loose Women everyday and I suppose she has a better following.

Thats the problem with these types of shows, they are marked by the general public and if you are not known by them then you arent a favorite.

I mean i love Roxy as she was in Emmerdale but Jessica is a better skater.

Coleen needs to go though I find her performances a chore, she always looks as though she is terrified.

It would have been interesting – perhaps even embarrassing for the show if Jessica had made a bad error during the skate-off. Although, I dare say, even had she fallen the judges could have still justified her performance as superior to that of Melinda, who imo was sent home entirely by the bizarre public vote; for instance; versus Donal, Colleen, or Roxy she would have had a realistic chance of survival, against Jessica, and as she realized herself, she faced inevitable defeat.

Well, I'm just glad it's the judges who have the final say in the skate-off. Because if it were down to the great British public we could well see the day Coleen and Ray would skate against each other and Coleen would win. I swear there are enough loopy people out there to do it!

Probally people thought Jessica was safe and voted for others. It happens, don't see what the big deal is.

Someone who can skate extremely well (relatively) got no votes and someone who can't skate to save her life and doesn't try as hard as the others got the most votes. Only the ones making those votes could not see what the big deal is

What? You think because I voted for Coleen I'm too blind to know? Even though I voted for Coleen this year I'm no different to any year I've watched it (and SCD sometimes). It just happens, people think their favourite is safe and they end up in the dance off. In the case of Jessica here. It does actually happen you know

And just for the record, I've never voted before for the poorer dances, Greg and Aggie for example. Coleen's my first. I've always voted for the favourties, like Suzanne and Chris last year (which was only in the final). I love Coleen, and after watching since series 2 I think it's about time I enjoyed seeing someone I adore so much

Why was Jessica in the skate off, why??
When she has been consistently good from week one, can't the public see talent, are they blind?? What has Ruthie got against Roxy? She is as bad as Jason, her attitude don't do it for anyone, remember this is a talent competition, not a popularity contest, so get it right people
As much as Coleen is popular and funny, she is not a very good skater, she should of been the one to leave

I have seen no evidence that she doesn't try
it is very difficult to relax and let go when you are a certain size and age
I can barely walk on the ice for fear of falling yet my children just whizz round with no fear
i think that is the biggest issue for Coleen and was for poor Todd too
I think she is doing a great job all things considered

If you want fair results and a contest based purely on talent do not watch anything where the public get a vote
